    this would lead to it being criminal as a 16 y/o to bang your 15 y/o sig. other, and you could actually get charged with statutory rape by their parents or something if they were jerks
    so states give some wiggle room on the age of consent for people around the age of consent line - so that a high schooler banging another high schooler is ok

    The exception is so that 15 year olds can.

    tbh my main takeaway from the Rose McGowen article was "oh thank god she's an awesome person I respect that is 41 I feel ever so slightly less old"

    because for reals the number of people who make me think "hey this is a neat talented person who is awesome" has started skewing towards people younger than I am to a disconcerting degree lately

    (also that was my main takeaway because I am already very aware how shitty hollywood treats women and especially women who aren't in their 20s in a pushup bra (whom also get treated poorly but are at least in the running for a job (seriously fuck you, hollywood)))
