I loved that character. And the fact that he continues the theme from all of Jackie's movies that Jackie gets outclassed by the main villain and has to cheat to win. And he was even named Rathbone, to bring up the old fencing movies from even earlier in the thread.

It Follows is certainly good and warrants another watch, but I was not as frightened by it as I thought I'd be. Of the big word-of-mouth horror films that came out last year, The Babadook had me on edge far more.

i thought it follows was awful tbh

like it was super nicely shot but that was the only thing it had going for it? i spent the whole movie being like, this is a dumb plan, you are dumb please stop
like their ultimate plan to beat the monster is to lure it into an abandoned swimming pool and throw hairdryers at it? and it cleverly foils the plan by seeing that there are hairdryers around the pool and not getting in. so they... shoot it

you can tell the whole thing was set up just because the director wanted to film in an abandoned swimming pool

the characters are constantly making decisions like that. "this creepy location would provide a cool visual for anyone who happened to be making a movie of us! we should... go there"

edit: i guess it's like hannibal

the plot of hannibal makes no sense and never fucking has but that's not the point of hannibal. the cinematography and sound are the point of hannibal. and, i mean, i love hannibal

Maaaaaan, Inside Out isn't released here until July 24th. What is that weak shit?

Like, Disney own both Pixar and Marvel, why do the animated features get shafted? Didn't see Wreck it Ralph til this year cos of missing the buzz.

Yes, I will put it up in the Pantheon with Die Hard, Terminator 2, Robocop (1987) and DREDD (2012)

I also saw Inside Out. I would not recommend bringing 2-5 year olds... it gets pretty heavy at times.

The Terminator Genisys reboot seems kind of pointless since the rights to the franchise will revert back to Cameron in 3 or 4 years.

The reason is PR. "A human hand on the trigger", and all that.

I really liked the Robocop remake. A lot more than I though I would.

    that was intensely disappointing

It's a perfectly serviceable action movie.

    But nothing more.

I mostly enjoyed it, but the ending was really not the climax it was trying to be.

Sam Jackson's scenes were a nice touch.

The new robocop just felt like a big ol nothing movie.

Other than that he was a robocop the only thing it had in common with the first movie was the Samuel L Jackson scenes.

And half the movie robocop jumps around like a lightly armoured dude and then other times he wanders through like he is a big ol tank.

It just had no consistency within it.

Also it didn't really make fun of society like the first one.

    It was super disappointing.
