Every once and a while i get a hankering for playing good old DnD.
Unfortounatly i dont have a group where I am at. We should create a repository of people who are in the market for a game of some sort to be played on line, and whether they want to be a player or are willing to dm.
Such. I am looking to be a player[sorry, no time to dm] in pretty much anything but forgotten realms, and prefer generic, homebrew, and Eberron.
Players still looking for a game
Claxton
Gleve
Minigunwielder
Skorri Siggeir

Vic

If you want to play, send me a PM, if you start a game, send me a PM with the names of the players and ill take you off the list.
You could always pick up one of the Expedition books they have been releasing recently and run that. Something like "Expedition to Ravenloft" could very well carry us through to the release of 4E in PbP format.
Edit: I've been jonesing to play a cleric with the Earth domain, because, man, fuck air elementals.
delroland on
EVE: Online - the most fun you will ever have not playing a game.

I mean, truth is, I'd have to be hella strict about some shit because man 3.5 is so breakable it's nuts.
You could just limit it to a few awesome books.
Or just look at over character sheets and be like, "This isn't cool."
That is generally my approach.
If someone is like "thanks to this feat from this book and this feat from this book and this spell and this magical weapon quality I do 500 damage!" my response is just
You should pick 3 others though, one is me since i started the thread
edit: you might want to allow/enforce a few of the PHB II class feature changes, since the wildshape version there is a whole lot less expliotable than the core
I would like a try at playing again.
I have not played DnD in years so I have forgotten most of the rules {the 4th edition came out long after I last played} So I guess I would be more of a hinder than a help in the game

EDIT: i might be interested in playing, it's been...never
But I want to.
Player. I'm GMing a starwars thing on the board and will be dm'ing a worldbuilding thing at some point... I likes me to be a PC once in a while.
Only if you DM, since we dont have one.
i wouldn't be all that opposed to doing such, if people thought i was a good choice
i might need to study some
Hshoe's got a decent thinger he found for doing rolls on message board posts so that might work.
PBP!
I'd love to be in on that, and I get the impression Pony's got his shit pretty straight when it comes to his gaming. That could be a good time.
DM something
(with me in it)

I've been tempted to do this myself at times due to the slippery slope of allowing expanded material.

"No."
I want to play a core bard, so its good with me.
Also, limit the number of characters.
Core Only
Greyhawk
1st Level
28 Standard Point Buy
Max Starting Gold based on Class
Sound coo?

go
Score!
feats, spells, and alternate class features from PHB II are acceptable
because man that book comes pretty close to single-handedly fixing a lot of things (ie the fighter)
base classes are not
it's been awhile since i've played anything d&d, so i'll make sure to get caught up before this
Hey, Horseshoe, are you playing a Cleric for serious?
What about Paku?
I might go with a fighter or ranger instead of Barbarian, but something martial regardless.
"Go up, thou bald head." -2 Kings 2:23
I think we're missing an arcane caster (a wizard or sorceror) if Horseshoe's playing a cleric and Goumin's playing a bard.
i'll make sure i read up on it, then
we're doing 3.5 rule set, right?
pony, can you give me a date to be caught up by?
War. Law. Sword. Shield.
I shall strike mine enemies in His Name!
And that sort of thing.
Also, healing you guys.
Salt, will you be a Suloise barbarian from the frozen north? Because that is awesome.
Horseshoe, I really know nothing about Greyhawk, so I don't know.
I was thinking dwarf.
wednesday. i won't be starting nothing till then at the earliest.
really i just picked the first four people who posted
and i know the other three are experienced players
