Nostalgia, Ultra.

Today I had the chance to revisit my last "childhood home", if you will, as a favor to my dad. He had rented the house out for the last five or four years, but recently he decided to sell it so he wouldn't have to deal with being a landlord living halfway across the country.

Anyway blah blah blah there I was. Aside from one cleaning session it had been about 8 years since I'd been there. I expected to feel sentimental, maybe a bit melancholy? Maybe a bit...NOSTALGIC??? But instead I just felt a bit creeped out. Like I was trespassing. (I wasn't, he needed me to let some home depot guys in. Incidentally they never showed)

So now, I would like you to tell me about your last nostalgic experience, whether it be good, bad, bizarre or exactly what you expected.

I'm heading back to Alberta in a week and a half to visit some friends for a few days, and while I'm really looking forward to it, I'm also curious about how I'll feel when I see the house I grew up in no longer belonging to my family. My parents moved out about half a year ago to B.C. (just a couple hours from where I am), my youngest brother stayed behind in Calgary, while my middle brother came to the coast with my parents.

It actually didn't dawn on me until reading this post that I'll drive by my house and it'll be an unfamiliar family living there.

    Huh....

My childhood home has become a regular customer for delivery, that's been weird lately.

I live on an island and don't have strong opinions about beagles, among other things.

A bakery near work makes pretty good neenish tarts. They were my favourite when I was a fuzzlet and now I can eat them every day.
