Announced on October 25th, Marvel announced a Moon Knight Television series.

Marvel Entertainment has inked a deal with No Equal Entertainment, a Vancouver-based production company, to develop a live action TV series based on Moon Knight. Doug Moench and Don Perlin created the Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight) character and introduced him in Werewolf By Night #32 way back in 1975.

Moon Knight has experienced a comic book revival in 2006 thanks to novelist Charlie Huston and artist David Finch, who have collaborated on a new on-going Moon Knight comic series (see "Moon Knight No Longer a Mini"). The most recent issue of Moon Knight was the 28th most popular comic book released in September with North American sales of nearly 65,000 copies.

With the demise of the Blade TV series (see "Put a Stake in Him, He's Done"), it will be up to Moon Knight to plant the live action flag of second tier Marvel characters in the land of the small screen.

Although Blade the Series was a stinker I have hope for Mr. Spector.

    Hahaha

one of my teachers was complaining about comic movies and how they make them for every random character nowadays

he said, "What'll they do next, a Moon Knight movie?"

edit: I should get him to say Deadman, so it'll be made

Your teacher has no taste. Moon Knight is a badass of epic proportions.

You do however, a Deadman movie would be awesome.

Pac Man's character is difficult to explain even to the Japanese -- he is an innocent character. He hasn't been educated to discern between good and evil. He acts more like a small child than a grown-up person. Think of him as a child learning in the course of his daily activities. If someone tells him guns are evil, he would be the type to rush out and eat guns. But he would most probably eat any gun, even the pistols of policemen who need them.

He said he hasn't read comics in like 10 or 15 years or so, so that may make a difference

    Blade the Series was cancelled?

    Thank god.

As for a Moon Knight series, it should be alright. So long as it isn't for Spike TV.

    He's not a batmn rip-off.
He's a rich crime fighter that uses fear to strike down criminals and exact vengeance.

    Elephant in the room.

They should've done a Luke Cage series instead.

Unless you think characters are little more than their abilities, they're not the same at all. Marc Spector's got multiple personalities, and he's kind of a bastard too. Also, pagan.

It's TV we're talking about. It's a rarity when characters in a show like this aren't one-dimensional jokes.

Thanks for reminding me how ridiculously awful the latest Moon Knight relaunch was.

In a show like this? When was the last time there was a show like this?

Or are you referring to all live-action shows based on comic book properties?

More or less. You have to admit that they've had a pretty abysmal track record.

It's because he's basically a priest, and his god wants him to wear white. See also: crazy mooncopter.
