You know, I thought we had a cartoon thread...hmm...somewhere...

But it's almost criminal to mention only X-Men in a Marvel Cartoons topic. Where's the Spidey-lovin'?

It's a shame that Marvel seems to have no interest releasing any of their old series, a la DC.

Aside from Fantastic Four, that is. I mean, three Spider-Man films, three X-Men films...all perfect times to release a set.

Wouldn't it be great to have both Iron Man series released on DVD next year along with the film? Yeah, won't happen.

But hey maybe we'll get Ultimate Avengers 3, 4, 5, and 6 soon.

Well, Marvel usually released a few episodes of a storyline that had something tangentially related to the X-Men and Spider-Man movies. Like the Venom episodes or the Dark Phoenix saga.

Then for Fantastic Four they release the whole series?

    That bothers me even more.

Yeah, that's called dumb. I don't want those. I want a set. I want bonus features that I'll probably never watch.

It really is dumb, and I don't condone it at all.

I feel the same way with the Real Ghostbusters DVDs they have released that are only a few episodes and arghshsh give me boxed sets.

Pryde of the X-Men was so, so bad. It's only redeeming point is that the 6-player arcade game seemed to use it as it's basis, and the game was so awesome some of the coolness seeps backwards into the show.

one of Ghostface Killah's aliases is Tony Starks, thus the change to Tony Starks' House of Ribs.

I suggest we hunt the two teams down and make them play each other.

    Or fight.

    Or give them Glocks.

    Or all of the above.

I needed to clear up some space on my hard drive so I decided to hold X-Men marathons and delete the episodes as we watched them. I think we only made it to season three before our schedules started conflicting, but fuck me was it fun. Though Keith did accurately describe it last page, it somehow gets tons better as the series progresses...and then tons worse. Basically, the introduction of Bishop is the downfall of season 2...

...time travel has never been more boring.

I really do consider all the voices and personalities from the 90s show to be the X-Men. Probably part of the reason Halle Berry Storm was so dissapointing to me. She didn't have any of the wise weather goddess thing going on.

I don't know that Marvel has anything to do with the lack of X-Men and/or Spider-Man on DVD. Saban owned that whole block of Fox Marvel stuff, and then ABC acquired Saban. And Disney owns ABC, sooo...you can pretty much blame the fact that Disney is a bunch of dickfaces when it comes to their DVD releases. To put it politely.
Like when Kid Rhino lost the rights to all the old Marvel/Sunbow stuff, and then Sony bought it all pretty much for purposes of sitting on it. Yeah. That's awesome.

The voices were well cast but some of the acting was horrible. The pots were essentially ripped out of the comics except worse or made more extreme. The art and animation were a crime against man. That show was ugly as fuck.

the thing I don't like about the Japanese opening is that the animation is so much radder that, when you actually see the show, it's depressing.

it kind of scares me how the animation alternates in the japanese into from looking very like the american art, then doing something very anime-ish. i don't know why this unsettles me, but it does.
