R in the US is 18+ unless you're with a parent or guardian. As I found out, guardian does not mean "be with someone who is 18+" as my girlfriend at the time, her brother and I went to see Interview with the Vampire for a second time. We weren't 18 yet, but her brother was. They wouldn't sell us tickets, so we left, he went back in to a different booth and just bought three tickets. Problem solved!
Strangely enough, it's 17+
I have also managed to con my way into a number of R movies. It helped that my parents did not give a shit and I could fall back on the "here call my parents and ask them if it's ok" deal.
I'm pretty sure without an ID I'd have problems getting into an R-rated movie nowadays and I'm almost 27.
"Listen, I am old enough for this film! Do I need to prove it? Do you want me to describe Reboot the animated television show from the 90's? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT!?! ALRIGHT, HERE GOES: WITHIN THE CITY OF MEGABYTE--"

That'd be their mistake, because like Bennett from Commando electricity only fuels me for more murdering!

the fallacy of your plan here is assuming the person you are talking to is old enough to know what reboot is
I never saw Reboot but I thought the PS1 game was pretty neat
It was like a shittier-controlling Tony Hawk game but you had a gun
I played through that whole game due to my love of Reboot. The plot introduced a bunch of stuff, like the sister city, way before it was brought up in the show.
Sad part is I don't think a game cube ever landed in the game. That would have been cool, going into another game.
The Reboot video game caused me to lose Great Greed, one of my favorite RPGs, for the original Game Boy
I was able to reacquire the same copy of the game sixteen years later
How?
Back in the wonderful days of middle school, we had a game-trading ring going on. You could either trade games for keeps or just borrowing, it all worked on the honor system. One game for one game, the console didn't matter
So I let this kid borrow three games of mine, including Great Greed, and he let me borrow three of his games. When I'd finished with them, I brought them back to school and he brought back three as well, but Reboot was one of them, and that game was not mine. I reminded him that Great Greed was the third game I lent to him, and handed him back Reboot, but he said he'd talked to everyone and didn't know where this copy of Reboot came from and assumed it was mine, and then he said I could just go ahead and keep Reboot, and he'd hold onto Great Greed a little longer since he hadn't played it yet.
Flash forward a few weeks, I'd played Reboot a bunch, never beat it. No one in the circle ever mentioned the game, I even brought it up to all of them. "Free game," I thought.
And then one of my friends got Final Fantasy VII and it looked super cool and I wanted a copy, so I went to the flea market to do some trading to get a copy. Reboot was one of the games I traded. The next week I went back to school and the kid came up to me and was like "hey, Reboot was actually my brother's game, so if you can just bring that back" and I told him I didn't have it anymore. So he gave his own copy of Vigilante 8 to his brother and kept my copy of Great Greed.
Flash to 2014 and I end up working with the kid's older sister. I mention this story to her and it turns out her husband had actually gotten a copy of Great Greed, from her brother. I bought it off of her husband for $10

That's kinda how my brother traded away TMNT for the NES for Strider. The other kid then moved before he could trade back but TMNT was horrible so it was a slight step up.
strictly speaking, with walmart at least, you're supposed to card anyone who looks younger than 40, in case it's a teenager that looks old for their age

Let me tell you about Reboot.
Back in 1994, not everyone had consoles, it was a dark time. So for people like me, who's options were to visit other people's houses for their console fix, this scratched the itch of video games that you couldn't play.
I could also tell you the other story in 1994 where 11 year old Blake read in a magazine t something called the internet and I was so excited to use it, I saved up some money to use it at my local library, sat down in front of the computer for my allotted 30 minutes and couldn't figure it out and nearly cried that I wasted my four dollars.
As I type this, my watch just told me I got an email.

1: It was Mainframe
2: I have grown a beard, and now I only get carded by the most strict of bartenders because I look "Under 32" which basically means I will be carded forever.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
It's an RPG where everyone is named after food and food-related things. The princess is named Cupcake, her servant is named Microwave, dog is named Candy, etc.
It's also fantasy-but-not-really
Like there are kings and knights and wizards and stuff and all the trappings of a Dragon Quest/FF, but there are also weird anachronisms, like there's a quest where you have to go to this abandoned record factory to rescue this singer who's trapped in the building, and you're navigating across these giant moving turntables

Oh I enjoyed strider, but it was expensive considering how long it was, so to get it for TMNT was good.
So I saw a trailer for the new woody Allen movie and I was like huh what's this and then oh wait it's about an older man in a relationship with a woman thirty years younger than him, what else could woody Allen ever write about
Yeah, movies with relationships between a young woman and a much older man is such an anomaly in Hollywood.

No, but this is seriously all Woody Allen writes anymore
Like his last 6 movies or something

I am annoyed with Pixels for pretty much the same reason I get annoyed at people who make Dr. Seuss movies, except with Pixels it seems like the people involved didn't even care about the nostalgia they were planning on making bank off of.

No but most of those aren't written by adult men who raped 8 year old girls
