Looks like the HTC Vive will be at Prime this year as part of their world tour.. http://blog.htc.com/2015/07/the-htc-vive-world-tour-is-here/

I hope more details show up soon as I'm super excited to try it out. I tried the Rift last year and wasn't very impressed with it. I've been reading several hands on impressions for the Vive and it sounds really really good.

More details...well, they've been traveling around with a big truck they open to the public, with people lining up hours ahead of time to try out (so expect it outside of PAX rather than in). It involves 3 demos: virtual underwater scene, VR cooking, and a Portal-themed experience.

this bit for the Vive tour FAQ makes me think I might just skip queuing up for this -
(Although this does say at most stops so PAX might be different)

How many demos are you doing each day?

At most stops, the truck is in operation for 10 hours each day. We can run 6 demos in an hour (3 demo bays x 2 half-hour slots in an hour = 6 demos per hour). With a little wiggle room, we can complete about 60 demos in a full day. Of course, depending on how the day goes, that number can decrease or increase slightly.

be interested to see how big the queues are when they are in Seattle for the Dota International earlier in August

If they open with the rest of PAX (10:00 AM) and run till 8:00 PM, that is 60 people (based on their numbers). So if you want to see it, you should really get up early and line up. I run this table out to 16 hours, but they typically only run for 10.
