Mathematical! Totally showing up this year. Again. And hope to humiliate myself as I did last year by playing cockroach poker and telling someone the card was a "cat" (there are no cats in cockroach poker). So, that happened.
Themes...hmmm... Pre-PAX Game Night brought to you by Titanfall. Too soon?
I have received my copy of Exploding Kittens! In case you didn't know, this is a card game made by Oatmeal, the internet famous cartoonist and was the highest funded game in Kickstarter history. They promised to have the game finished and delivered by July this year. Amazingly they actually fulfilled this promise! This may go against Kickstarter rules, but they did it anyway. I look forward to playing it at the Pre PAX Board game night
Ah man, it's been far too long since I've been to the Pre-PAX Boardgamening, and by "far too long" I mean I missed last year's. That still counts, right? I'm sure it does. Anyway, depending on what I can pick up from Card Kingdom this weekend, this may change (hooray stupidly good sales) but I plan on bringing the following:
Android: Infiltration (Who else here has played this? Anyone?)
Betrayal at House on the Hill, 1st ed.
Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards, both boxes
Innovation
Love Letter, Kanai Factory ed. (There are seriously like ten other boxes whyyyyyy)
The Sheraton is mostly booked by paying rentals this year. They are giving us one Ballroom with about 300 seats but the mezzanine lobby is already booked for an event. With the 500-700 attendees, this is going to be really frustrating for the approximately 50% who can't find seating.
I'm looking at a colocated game night at a second hotel and split it up between both locations.
We need an info table staffer / coordinator to help at the second hotel. It means hanging out at game night from about 6pm - midnight and helping to answer questions and match players to games.
I am certainly willing to help, but would rather not give up my entire game night - any way that we can organize a cadre of volunteer staffers to take 2 hour shifts or something?

Oh now this is frustrating, but these things can and do happen. Sadly I really cannot help as I would have flown in from London that day and would likely end up imagining I'm a humming bird by around 11pm PST in true Apu style:
Is anyone bringing the battlestar board game? I'd show up for that without question, or if anyone has Hero Quest so I can relive my childhood. How late does this usually run? My flight doesn't get in until 8:45 but I'd love to go to this.

This will usually run as late as people want, but certainly past midnight. And I can say with certainty that there will be people bringing BSG - the problem is, with a late arrival, you might miss out on them, since it can certainly run a bit long.

This is my favorite event every year, sad that there are difficulties, but as the greatest pax event every year it's worth it. If you need help to set up a second location I can set my evening aside. I pm'd you my contact info.

While I don't have space at my hotel, has anyone tried the olive 8? since its doing PAX events, they might be generous for some good space.
If its there, I might be able to help coordinate a table there since its right next to the Camlin where I'm staying.
(still working on what I'm trying to bring up with me, but so far its at least one suitcase)

I had previously (and still am) volunteered to stay late at the Sheraton and help manage the storage/return of any games left there. I'm willing to work wherever needed in case staffing a 2nd location is harder than finding a person for the Sheraton.
Thanks so much you guys! I've been contacting hotels in the area, but so far everyone is booked solid that night with other private events or convention reserved setups. I'll post as new information becomes available and will reach out to the volunteers (<3) with deets.
Happily on Sabbatical. Don't bug me.

Okay gang, after a week of negotiations, we managed to get the seating issues resolved with the Sheraton. They will be opening up the 2nd floor "lobby" area for gaming. The hotel will be filling the space with as many rounds as will fit, so we're back up to 500 seats and no second location!!!
Thanks to everyone who stepped up to help out. I'd still love to be spelled from the info table so I can go play some games!!! Stop by if you feel like giving me a break for an hour or two.
A reminder that the way this awesome space is acquired is through the understanding that attendees will booze and food it up from the hotel, so make it worthwhile for them so they keep giving the space!

Forumers are usually pretty good about the rules, but folks who attend that aren't on the forums aren't always aware of the rules or why they're needed. There will be extra signage this year to help communicate to the walk-ins.

I'll do my part to drink on behalf of the non-forumers.
I will be posting my final list of 'checkout games' tomorrow morning looks like somewhere in the realm of about 30 different games, covering the gambit of quick play, deduction, and more.
All will have a card in them with my contact information, and the info desk will have a full list
I'm so looking forward to this! Since I'm not staying at a local hotel, any recommendations on a good place to park? (I usually take a local bus in for PAX.)

Explosions and Kittens!?! Who doesn't love either of those?
People who hate things generally. We don't like those people.

Although that would be entertaining for many, it's not how I imagined starting PAX Prime 2015.
You can bring whatever games you would like to play. That being said, Cards Against Humanity is usually well represented, from what I recall.

Just a nerd into anything Nintendo, anime, MCU, Star Wars, and board games/card games.
Also a computer scientist and a streamer.

There will be buttons again, you can get them at the info table.
