I've decided that if the general consensus is that they nailed the ending to this game, I'm gonna get it. I don't wont to get too into waiting for episodic games, but I did like Remember Me more than most.

I think this game is worth playing even if the ending is mediocre.

It's a refreshing change of perspective

I would actually love it if life is strange had a completely dissonant multiplayer mode

This got me thinking about time travel in a multiplayer FPS.

The things I can think of:
    • Rewind to put yourself back where you were a few seconds earlier, with all of the health, ammo, etc that you had at the time.
    • To be able to fire time-frozen bullets. You could step into a hallway, unload a clip, and the bullets would hang there in the air. You'd scurry back into cover, and then someone would come up the hall, and you'd unfreeze the bullets, and the bullets would move forward in time and hit the person.
    • To be able to step into the past for a couple of seconds and move around that way. The game would track where people were and what they were doing, so a jump a minute into the past could put the player into the middle of a firefight that occurred at that location a few minutes before. They player would be unable to kill people in the past (because reasons), but they could get hit while running around in the past.
    • The ability to drop time traps. Players would run into them, and be momentarily slowed down. But after emerging, there would be a second self still stuck in the trap for a short period of time. The player could either move on and continue to fight, or they could guard their time-trapped self. If their other self gets killed, they die too.
    • As time travel weakens the space time continuum, you'd start seeing "ghosts" on the battlefield and energy distortions that could damage or confuse players, weird effects everywhere.

Life is Strange FPS, lets do this.

Let me tell you about... timeshift

I have invented this new thing. It is called "Rock." When combined with your head at just the right speed, it will send you into the future! We just haven't worked out the kinks as to how far in the future you will go.

If it sends me to some point after Episode 5's release, I'll try it.

    I kinda liked new Chloe.
It would've been interesting if Chloe wasn't dying a slow, painful death. Paralyzed, yes, but not dying painfully. That way, the choice between saving William or letting him walk away to die might have been worth pondering/exploring.

But then Life is Strange would also have been a very different game. Or two different games.

Warren always takes that picture, and otherwise that ability is a total red herring. It's as good as given.

Oh, since it seems like I took a few somewhat unpopular choices, partially because I figured they would be unpopular and let me see things other people didn't, might as well say how they played out so far.
If Max and Warren are going to the drive-in, Brooke does give a little more detail on the whole Warren thing, before burying the hatchet. Apparently, she didn't ask Warren. Best I can figure, it was a "Hey, if I can't get anyone else..." kind of deal, with Warren thinking "Really want to go with Max, but hey, Brooke's my friend, and she likes the Planet of the Apes series, so it won't be a total loss." and Brooke leaning more romantic... without actually bringing it up. Ah, the perils of teenage communication.

Also, Chloe texts Warren if she's shot down on the kiss, so... that's mildly interesting, I suppose.

Right, the whole "use photo to rewind" thing is way to big of a thing to use it to take up space at the beginning of this episode. Unless it's just badly written in that respect, which is possible.

And fuck I thought the teacher was a bit of a creep but not that bad.

    Finished episode 2 tonight
I haven't really had any problems with the dialogue to this point, not actually, but rooftop scene was really not my favorite. Each line was just waaaay too clearly broken down into a checklist to save her for my tastes. Really took me out of the moment. Especially when she said she'd come down but oh wait the game forgot it needed me to remind her about her Father, so suddenly she's about to jump again.

Such a potentially powerful scene and I just ended up wishing they had written the dialogue more naturally.

So far though, I've been picking all the most common options. Threw Nathan under the bus. Fuck that guy.

    Same.

I mean, I didn't exactly argue when David called him a douchebag. But there's a big gap between "Kind of a douchebag" and "Multiple homicides, also all sorts of rape."

On the other hand, looking at some clues other people have pointed out, if Stella is working with him, well, forewarned is forearmed on that count. And he needs an assistant to get the killshots so close to when he drugged Max.

Doubt it's Nathan, considering Chloe stole his gun while he was having 12 kinds of shit kicked out of him. So... yeah. I have a suspect.

I think Jefferson only has killed Rachel before.

I doubt Stella is working with him. Nathan is posing with Rachel's dead body in the files and the Prescott's paid for Jefferson's weird art studio/"oh god oh no" room.

I went back and forth on that one.

On my blind play through, I did the thing. On my "in retrospect, these are the best choices" play through, I will not be doing the thing. I don't think.

Well, my opinion is that doing the thing is the right thing to do.
Chloe essentially has no agency. Outside of her online interactions, she sees or talks to no one outside of her parents. Considering the original Chloe that we know, that is just absolutely crushing. She's an adult. She's dying, and slowly and painfully. She should be able to make that decision.

But like of course this is going to depend heavily on what you think of euthanasia.

Personally, I believe that assisted suicide in the case that Chloe is in is the best choice. For me, she ticks off all of the boxes that I want to see before I can consider it ethical: no quality of life, terrible pain, no hope of recovery and worsening condition, and the person making the request being entirely competent to make the decision. Chloe gets to die on her own terms - and it's the only one of her deaths in Life is Strange that she chooses.

My reluctance to kill her in my "best choices only run" is because I want to be sure that there's a reality where Chloe is alive past the end of the game. Even if only for a little while.

But the more I think about it, the more I think that I want to support Chloe in her choices. Even if her choices tend to be self-destructive.

Not really. You'll occasionally get some dialogue from people you help out, but nothing that changes the overall story.

    Thanks.

I might still give it a second run, just to see how differently I can do things.

Digging it so far. The dialogue can be rough, but the plot seems to be going places.

I didn't really suspect him of THAT, but I definitely didn't like him
He felt like the perfect example of the teacher who kids think are a little TOO cool. The dude you look back on and realize he was actually a fucking creep. I mean he's teaching a HS class where he wrote the textbook and it has his face on it. What a douche!
