Is there an app where a large group of friends can all coordinate?

in PAX West
I'm headed to pax with about ten other friends from out of town. Is there some handy app where we can post status updates? Basically like a private chatroom or bulletin board - anything besides sending texts to 10 people at a time over and over.

    groupme is in /heavy/ use by people at pax for all sorts of groups
