edited September 2015 in Social Entropy++

No word on The recent 1800s spin off, so it probably isn't coming overseas

Now that I've marathoned all the shows I needed to watch I think I'll pick back up my Ace Attorney playthrough, I stalled out in 2.

Also please mark and tag your spoilers, I don't wanna be spoiled you jerks

EDIT: I hate you, autocorrect

Yeah I'm bummed we aren't getting the one set in the past but at least this means they haven't written the west off entirely for the series!

And I also want more Maya.

Apparently it had a kinda shitty Sherlock! He was a Bad Detective

Did totally have the most anime Watson that could ever there be though

Weird they don't seem to be exporting Meji Wright, you'd think with much of it being set in London it's a relief not to have to worry about how a small city of 50,000 has room for a vibrant Japanese Immigrant scene.

I really really wanted to see the localization team try to make the ancestor Wright game take place in the Edo period of Los Angeles.

like i'm glad we're doing another AA game

    but

holy damn they are just trying to scoot apollo under the bed with their foot

nobody pay any attention to the other protagonist or the plot of his game

    cause look! phoenix is here!!!!

I like pheonix way more than Apollo so that's pretty OK to me.

Considering Apollo's game wasn't as well received, I thought they still acknowledged it well enough.

(Minor AA5 Spoilers, just saying who is/isn't in the game)
Apollo still got a decent sized role in AA5, plus Trucy and Klavier returned while characters like Maya and Gumshoe didn't.

So far, all we know about AA6 is that it exists. In fact, we don't even know Phoenix is the star unless another tweet clarified it (he probably is though).

    6 looks like a magatama

Therefore Maya will be the new Ace Attorney this time

Woo, new Ace Attorney! That reminds me, I should finally knuckle down and finish 5, just had a hard time getting engaged on that one for some reason.

I maintain that my twist for AA5 was way better.

Also, I got my hopes up for a brief moment, because I thought Meiji AA was officially AA6.

I really want to play that game.

Ehhh Phoenix wasn't even the star of Dual Destinies. Athena was.

Apollo is a good kid don't get me wrong but he's just not as identifiable a protagonist as Phoenix is, though, I much prefer him when Maya is there to bounce off with. They make an excellent team.

I maintain that AA5 was fairly disappointing besides putting my mind at ease about the transition from sprites to models, and the wrestling case was fucking amazing.

    Shamelessly stolen from @skeldare

    http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/ace-attorney-6-first-scans-show-phoenix-wright-and-new-character-western-release-confirmed/

    - Phoenix Wright ends up traveling to an unnamed country
    - people there strongly believe in the spirits of the dead
    - the courtrooms in this country have something called a Water Mirror on the floor
    - on the top screen you'll see the face of a character and words floating in the water
    - young boy named Bokuto Tsuani is a monk-in-training who also works as a tour guide
    - once he gets in his “Tour Guide Mode”, there simply isn’t any way to stop him

Older Phoenix is a good look

It's good to see they're going to the other coast, too, I look forward to seeing how Phoenix interacts with the New York City justice system

I just hope 6 continues the Wright & Co. Law Agency

I loved what they had built there in 5 and I honestly could not get that into the idea of the spinoff without Apollo or Athena

I really love and prefer Phoenix in the god-mode defense attorney boss now, after his maturing in AA3 to SSJ Phoenix.

I'd also like to see Miles come back again, and have the defense attorney actually lose to him for once.

And can I just say I love all the pun names in the games?

Especially the ones that take you a while to figure out.

    Like Winston Payne.

When I saw this thread I assumed Ye Olde AA had been announced for us, but I will not complain about AA6.

And yeah, Wright & Co was a natural progression for the series, I hope they don't fall to the wayside.

I get people weren't super hot on apollo but it's a real bummer that so many plot threads from that game are just going to be left dangling

also I don't have a 3ds and my experience with the series ends a little ways into the third case of the first edgeworth spin-off

but damn do I still think about the finale to AA3 a lot

I liked AA4 fairly well, issues aside, and I'm glad that Apollo didn't get swept under the rug, even if his plot threads did.

Cadenza may have been the first VGM remix I heard, now that I think about it. A high bar, indeed.
