Season 1 of Rebels went on sale like 2 weeks ago if you need to catch up.
Oooh might have to do that. My thought was to sub to XD and stream it online through Comcast.
I'm afraid if I watch it, I'll have no choice but to pick up all of Wave 8...
The Rebels series is by far a better prequel experience than the prequel trilogy. I don't want to spoil too much, but I'll just say a single episode did more to reinforce "he was the best star pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior" than all three prequel movies combined.
I rewatched all of Season 1 and Siege of Lothal over the Labor Day weekend. (What? I was stuck at home with a one year old while my wife and oldest daughter were at Disney.) I love the change in tone of the series. From a carefree, Robin Hood like beginning, straight through to "Fight it? Ezra, we were lucky to survive," moment in Siege of Lothal.
I want the Imperial Transport the most. I have loved the look of it from the first time it appeared. I'm hoping the Light Cruiser that showed up in Siege of Lothal will make it in as a Huge Ship later. I really liked the look of it more than I do the Raider.

It's possible, but it's probably too big as a light cruiser. There is no official size listing I can find for it (the fanon estimation is 200/250m), other than smaller than the venerator and bigger than the consular, so somewhere between 1137m and 115m.
The CR90/Raider are both corvette class for reference.
The Wilde Karrde is pretty well known, but I'm not sure I want to see it in the corvette/frigate role in Epic.
Karrde seemed more of a "violence is the last refuge of the incompetent" sort of guy.
While less iconic, these cuties seem well suited to the game;
I dunno, those look too professional military for the pirate faction. I think I still prefer the idea of a modified cargo vessel of some sort, something civilian they tried to turn into a combat vessel.
Something that can dock/undock their fighters and store the loot they steal.

Give them a bright/garish paintjob (already started with that with those big sigils), maybe a couple patches on the hull, and they could look like professional Mercs. I think that could work for the Scum and Villainy faction. S&V already encompasses bounty hunters, pirates, organized criminal organizations... extending that to mercenary forces seems natural. Added bonus of having mercs, maybe they work for the Rebellion or the Empire (for a price) when they're not busy mercing it up.
I personally think the bigger problem is the huge guns on the right ship. It doesn't feel like Star Wars to have guns that are larger than starfighters on a ship that size.
One of my most anticipated Kickstarters is finally getting to the shipping stage after way too many delays thanks to overseas manufacturing incompetence.
Large base ships now give up half their points at half HP. So Fat Han lists get a significant nerf, as they can't kill more than the cost of their escorts and then run away for the rest of the game for an auto-win at time out.
It would have been nice if they had differentiated the damage decks in some way. So you could easily tell the difference betwen the old one and the new one without looking to see what cards were in them.

I think the art on the back of the new damage decks are different.
Since we're getting ships from 30 years after the original trilogy that can be played with the Rebel/Imperial factions, I wonder if there's any chance of Prequel Trilogy ships coming out for the game.
If they do though, how would you see them getting divided up?
Republic Army for Imperials or Rebels? I mean, they do eventually turn into the Imperial navy, but they're also supposed to be the good guys in the movies.
What about the Trade Federation ships? They don't really fit with either Imperial or Rebel forces, I guess I could see them getting tied to S&V (money being their primary motivation and all that).
FFG has stated numerous times that they are not going to do anything solely from the prequels.
They know their audience. Some of us might like a Jedi or Naboo starfighter or a Droid fighter craft, but most people don't give a shit about the prequels.
There really aren't that many ships to choose from in the prequels anyway. Naboo fighter, Jedi fighter, those Not-X-Wings, two kinds of Droid craft...

Wooooooow. I honestly felt like TLT spam had driven the big turrets down to acceptable levels already. The new rules seem like they'll drive them out almost entirely.
I've been rolling my eyes at Fat Han players for two years now, but that's a jackboot to their junk.
And right before worlds, too.
I didn't even try to sign up for Worlds this year because I wasn't sure the meta would be worth playing in. Who knew if Wave 7 would hit in time?
Now I'm really sorry I didn't. It's going to be crazy diverse.
Wish FFG had made better arrangements for their big event.
I got my Gripmat a while back... I'm guessing you've got a rather large order?
Sort-of; I got a couple 36"x36"s, some score trackers, and some sideboards. The 36s I got are all the ones that kept coming through damaged, and I elected to wait for a clean copy rather than take them up on the option of a scratch-and-dent one that would arrive sooner.

First off, if we're counting ships taken from the prequel trilogy we should consider how many were pulled from the Original Trilogy, that's 6 for the rebels (X,Y,A,B wings, Rebel transport and the Falcon) and 5 Imperial ships (TIE Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, Advanced and Shuttle). So, there's not a huge amount of selection there to pull from for the original game.
Second, there are a lot more ships than just those five in the prequel trilogy. And, because I'm a huge nerd and can't stand someone being wrong on the internet about Star Wars...
Their was the Delta-7, the Eta-2, the LAAT(probably a large ship), v-wing, the ARC-170, Theta class shuttle... I'd guess you could use a Venator as a huge ship unless something else popped up in the Clone Wars series. All of those are from the movies, though I'm fairly certain that most of them also showed up in the Clone Wars series as well. Oh yeah, and the Naboo fighters, and three different chrome ships in assorted sizes.
On the Trade Federation side, you had the vulture droids, the Tri-fighters, the droid gunships, you could pretty easily make the Trade Federation landing craft into large base support ship. The Geonosian fighters, maybe Darth Maul's Scimitar (not sure if that should be here or on the Republic side...), Grievous's ship of course, Dooku's solar-sailer could work as a support vessel. I'm pretty sure you could get some more era appropriate ships from the Clone Wars series (the Fan-wing fighter in particular would be cool to see). Maybe use the Lucrehulk-class ships as huge ships, though they'd probably be too large for this scale. Maybe just use the core ship or leave them for Armada altogether.
I personally think it would be cool to see the Jedi fighters in the game. Maybe give them a new resource that they could spend to use the force for cool shit. Use Padawan/Knight for the generic pilots, and with all the named Jedi that flew them you'd have plenty of pilots to fill out a standard expansion and a Jedi Aces pack.
The ARC-170 was the not-X-wing I was thinking of. I forgot about the V-Wing, as well as the fact that there were two flavors of Jedi fighters.
The Low Altitude Assault Transport says it all right in its name. It is not a ship for dogfighting in outer space.
Sure, but just because it's a transport doesn't mean it's completely incapable of dogfighting. It's heavily armed with missiles and multiple energy weapon turrets and (at least in later versions) was capable of space flight.
I mean, technically speaking, the shuttle, the Rebel Transport and the Falcon are all transports as well, and of the three only the shuttle rolled off the assembly lines prepared for any kind of combat.
I'd love to see some of the bounty hunter ships from Clone Wars. Cad Bane's fighter Xanadu Blood is one of my favorites as is Sugi's light freighter Halo. More than any other though, I want Deathwatch ships, the Kom'rk fighters.
You can perform "Free Actions" on an asteroid again.
Crackshot triggers in the "Compare Results" step, which is the only time that makes Crackshot worthwhile, because your one use ept is actually guaranteed to do something then.

Also they really need a scum huge ship still.

If the rest of the faction is anything to go by, maybe we'll see a bit of both smuggler & mercenary/cartel aesthetic in the Scum epic ships.

If they don't go with the Action for the scum epic, they will go with the maurader.
I ignore a lot of Jango/Boba/Mandalore stuff so I missed the fact that this exists. I love it. I may have a weakness for seaplanes though...

Apparently Boba also used it as Slave IV. Increasing chances of getting it!

the developers talk a bit about the rule changes/clarifications, and the damage deck specifically
as someone who has lost multiple tournament matches due to awful munitions failure timing, I'm happy with that reasoning

Couple things I saw:
You can perform "Free Actions" on an asteroid again.
Crackshot triggers in the "Compare Results" step, which is the only time that makes Crackshot worthwhile, because your one use ept is actually guaranteed to do something then.
Also, someone explain this errata;
Darth Vader can be equipped with the Advanced Targeting Computer.
Does that mean he can equip it without using the title, thus getting two system upgrades if you pay the points?
At the minimum, I could see them being handy to keep track of who's ships belong to who easier in same-faction scrums.
COME FORTH, AMATERASU! - Switch Friend Code SW-5465-2458-5696 - Twitch
I guess that means there'll probably be a clarification later as to whether or not the Inquisitor's tie can take those upgrades, too?
