That's an escort mission you're describing. You people are out of your minds

One of the reasons video game adaptions of movies usually fail is because things that are awesome in movies aren't awesome in video games.

Fury Road is fun to watch, but would be terrible to play.

I've played Mad Max. The car combat in the convoy assaults were rad. More of that would be more rad.

They'd have to make it so you could repair your car while moving. Fury Road was all about never stopping unless they had to, and the game constantly makes you stop.

More car combat would be most excellent. I would love to have more convoys to attack, and even more complicating convoy fights. But car combat centered around defending a convoy leaves me skeptical.

To do a Fury Road style escort mission, you'd need to be able to get out on top of your car and hop over to other vehicles; commandeer them and have epic fights on the bigger ones.

Yes, give me Sleeping Dogs/Wheelman style air jacking of cars.

Just Cause 3 will be your savior. You can even run around on the top of vehicles without fear of falling off (which I can only assume will result in insane fighter-jet parties when the multiplayer mod is made)

    Apparently there's a patch today?

I hear there's some kind of option for car rolling in the air or something. Someone check that out and tell me what it does while I'm bored at work!

    Welcome Wastelanders!

Patch 3 for Mad Max rolls in a number of improvements, including the “Vehicle Roll” option, which lets you enable more realistic in-air physics. (And, to create more incredible moments in Capture Mode!) In addition to this, there’s a number of general fixes, for both graphics and audio, along with a number of specific updates for 64-bit Windows users. Enjoy all the nitty gritty in the full patch notes, below.

    General Updates for All Platforms:
    • Added optional “Vehicle roll” setting for more realistic in-air car physics.
    • General performance improvements.
    • Improved data streaming, enabling content to load faster and easier.
    • Improved auto-aim target prioritization.
    • Fixed various audio issues.
    • Made various GUI fixes and improvements.
    • Fixed several instances of the map not loading correctly.
    • Made various mission flow fixes and improvements. This includes retroactively resolving a conditional mission flow blocker that was happening to some players trying to install the Baby Bars during the Wasteland Classic mission after the mission flow had been interrupted.
    • General bug fixes.

    Win64 Specific Updates:
    • Fixed instances of graphics options resetting to default upon the game loading for some users.
    • Fixed an issue which caused the Harpoon to not work correctly on triple monitor setups, and with larger aspect ratios.
    • Fixed several keyboard entry issues with the WBPlay Menu screen.
    • Made several Mouse & Keyboard Control improvements and fixes.

    Yyyyeah, that's awesome.

So I finally beat that Speed Demon death race by cheating and blowing everyone up at the start and then just carefully, CAREFULLY driving to the finish line. Still took way longer than I'm proud of.

Now the 2nd mandatory race is the one I'm having tons of trouble with. Read some guides online: I guess the shortcuts are heavily encouraged, as they have walls of steam that will heal your car. I wish they had said something about this earlier instead of making me go online. Feels like the red fireproof paint I have on my car does fairly little to save me from fire and death.

Guides also recommend taking off all the heavy stuff on the car for better handling.

Finally beat the last race. Now I guess I'm doing some side missions, only this one only works at night and there isn't really a way to advance time in this game. You can't sleep or smoke cigarettes, you just sorta wait around.

Having some missions only available at night with no way to advance time quickly was a bad idea. I just didn't bother doing them.

It's just another half baked thing in this game. I really am finding that I like it less and less as I keep playing.

I didn't really have any problem with the races.

The night missions are, what, two missions? You can fast travel aeound the map to burn up time till evening and just drive there.

Finished it last night. Though took me longer than expected as when I spawned in to do the final battle I just plummeted into the earth and abyss. Luckily a restart fixed it.

I loved everything about the game. And was mostly impressed how gorgeous they made a bleak wasteland look. The clouds and explosions alone were worth several screenshots.

And I thought the ending was perfect.

Been trying to find a spot I can beat 8 people to death in fury mode in. Or rather, a place that I don't get to 6 or 7 and fail to drop the 8th in time but the last blow kills them so Saving... gone forever!

I might try using a second save slot or something so I can "reset" as needed though.

How far are you in the story? It sorta just happens, eventually. Make sure you're upgrading the Fury mode stat for max so it lasts longer.

Yeah, I just keep failing to seal the deal, as it were. That and the gut shot challenge are the only two ground challenges in that category I haven't done yet.

There's a side mission and a fort that have a truly huge number of dudes near the end of the game.

yeah, I've fought large numbers of dudes near the end-game areas they usually the shield or other guys mucking it up. Just wanna stomp some warboys and be done. I'll get it! I still have to get the V8 so I can actually build the archangels for the remaining vehicle challenges, lol.

Why did I have to recruit someone who is less useful than Chum?

I'm still taking in that ending. Vary rare a game ends with such gusto and fits with the overall narrative so well. Proper Mad Max.

You want an extra punch to the soul? Look at the Magnum Opus' dashboard.
    Max keeps Glory's sandglobe there.

Which is hilarious because it's on the ground as he drives off in the final cut scene... Unless I'm forgetting and that was the photograph on the ground.

No because I remember the cutscene where he puts the photo of his wife and kid on the dash. I was under the impression he left the snowglobe next to Hope and Glory's corpses. Be a bit weird for him to get all soft now.

the globe is left next to Scrotus at the end when he drives away. I was initially annoyed that he left the globe, but put the picture of his family on the dash, but after thinking about it, it totally made sense. Max rejects the idea of anything decent being possible in the wasteland, believing life is now solely about survival, while clinging bitterly to the memory of the world, and life, that was.

Beat the game, end game spoilers...
Really sad that Max sacrificed Chum and the Magnum Opus to take out Scrotus. The worst part is their sacrifice was for nothing. I knew Hope and Glory weren't going to make it out, but I really hoped that Chum would end up staying with one of the strongholds. RIP, my black fingered friend.

Happy that Dinky Di is ok. At least until the folks at the stronghold realize Max isn't coming back. :(
