I ran a viper in the squad I played all last league season! I enjoyed it, even though it didn't do much. I'm a poor pilot.
Has me itching to use it again though
I've vowed to not to play Scum faction though, because I already have tons of ships and running out of storage solutions. Which makes for a good segue to this question: Anyone have a good place to buy pluck foam from so I can do some custom lining of the tool box I've been using for my X-Wing minis? I can no longer transport all of them in their stock plastic shells so I'd like to get them stores in a bit more compact style.

My "solution" to my storage woes was to get a cabinet to put the ships on display most times, and to use my Plano boxes to store the cards and only what ships I need when I travel.
I haven't been able to put the cabinet together yet, but that's the plan anyway.

Battlefoam?
Maybe go to a art/crafts type of shop and get some foamcore board?
I would think that 2 or 3 layers (~.5-.75 inches thick) would work well for most small ships and should be sufficient to secure the larger ships from bouncing around in a toolbox.
Just need a hobby knife to cut the shapes into the board.
I guess what I want is pluck foam I can buy and cut down to fit in my toolbox and then shape as needed to fit my ships? I have no idea where to buy layers of pluck foam by itself though, Amazon listings I can find only come in like, sets of "here is two layers of this size of foam with a bottom and top layer for your bag" which is a lot of extraneous foam that I would be paying for without having a use for.
Suicide Squad was in full force and there was a ton of bumping and grinding.
All told I think there were only like 2 range 3 shots all game. Most of the fighting was done at range 1.
I got some really good rolls, and GG had some very cold dice, which allowed me to pull out the win.
Here's what I flew: Keyan Farlander (29) Push the Limit (3) Fire-Control System (2) Ion Cannon (3)
Corran Horn (35) Veteran Instincts (1) R2-D2 (4)
Gold Squadron Pilot (18) Ion Cannon Turret (5) BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)
I also toyed with the idea of taking B-Wing/E2 and throwing a Tactician in there, but I ultimately decided it was a lot of points to be stacking in one ship.

I don't like Tactician because of the Range 2 requirement. If it were 2+, or up to 2, etc., I'd be more okay with it - but exactly 2 is just too situational for me to blow ... 3 extra points on it, between the upgrade and the E2 mod.
Chrysis and I just played one intense match of X-wing.
This is a fair example of how close we were both pushing the limits of our ships;
Chrysis was extremely patient and cautious with his squadron of interceptor aces, only rarely leaving my Y-wings with poor quality primary weapon shots and never getting into bomb or autoblaster turret range.
Boba Fett was able to make up for much of this deficit, but unfortunately left his third seismic charge at home - a game-breaking mistake for me. It left an injured but dangerous Soontir Fel still floating around with his Stealth Device very late into the game. With Turr likewise badly hurt but still able to shoot, things were pretty clearly in favor of the TIEs when we eventually ran out of time.
Congrats to Chrysis on the victory!
Some seriously sweet flying tonight.
It was a good, and extremely close game. I got extremely lucky at crucial moments, although Turr flying around for 4 or 5 rounds trying to find duct tape was a pain. It could easily have gone either way, and the seismic charge / ion bomb mix up would have won you the game.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

Thanks for the pick-up game, @DaMoonRulz ! My wife's at orchestra practice and the kiddoes are all in bed, so it was the perfect time to make pew pew noises!
For some reason, we both ran monotype squads - DaMoon brought the Skyhook Squadron, a trio of StarVipers up to No Good (TM), and I brought ... we'll call them Blue Squadron, for now, a trio of B-Wings loaded for bear.
My main goal with the squad was to try out those B-Wing/E2 upgrade cards I'd never made use of, prompted by @crimsoncoyote's comments upthread. Keyan brought Kyle Katarn (probably some kind of Jedi training mission or something?) and the two Blue Squadron B-Wings had Saboteurs with them (which, unfortunately, didn't see any use).
Keyan + Kyle goes just about like you'd expect, but I don't think it's actually the best use of points. Most of the time, I ended up "double focused" without much to spend those tokens on. If you're flying Keyan properly, he's mostly not taking any hits, and he's maneuvering into position with his dial and a barrel roll, and then you can PTL for a second action to get a stress icon and take the focus action for defense. When Keyan spends his stress to attack, Kyle gives him another focus token - but unless you're getting hit with two attacks each round, that second focus token's kind of just wasting away. And if you are taking two attacks a majority of the time, you're probably doing something wrong.
I was able, towards the final rounds of the game, to set up the major combo I'd been hoping for all game: Keyan hit a StarViper at range with an ion shot for 1 damage and an ion token, and the remaining Blue Squadron pilot hit the same StarViper with the Flechette Cannon for 1 damage and 1 stress. From that point on, Keyan and Blue 2 were in a position to climb onto his tail and, barring extraordinary luck, escort him off the board doing 1+ damage each round.
Someone told me cloaking no longer works the way it does on the card that came with the phantom. Can someone clarify?
How decloaking worked was revised. I believe ships that are made after the errata was made have the revised text printed, but they have the text in the FAQ as well.
Decloak Reference Card
This card should read:
At the start of the Activation phase, after players have resolved all other
abilities that trigger at the start of the Activation phase, each ship may spend
a cloak token to decloak, starting with the ship with the lowest pilot skill
(using initiative to break ties). When a ship decloaks, it must choose one of the
following effects:
• Perform a barrel roll using the [ 2] maneuver template.
• Perform a boost using the [ 2] maneuver template.
Decloaking is not an action or a maneuver, and a ship can decloak while it has
a stress token.
A ship cannot decloak if it would overlap another ship or an obstacle token, or if
the maneuver template would overlap an obstacle token.
After all decloaking has been resolved, the Activation phase continues as
normal.

Nah, just kidding - he survived. By selecting zone 5, extending, and escaping.
Good match to @Grunt's Ghosts tonight - Suicide Squadron encountered Ion Some of the Things Mk2, but despite some absolutely amazing positioning from the Interceptors* and some solid hits early, Keyan, Jake, and GEN Salm were able to defeat the Imperial forces without loss.
Good luck with your remaining matches, GG!
* Like, seriously. Fel managed to barrel roll into a spot where there was, like, 5 pixels total on each side of him, slotting him neatly in-between an asteroid and Keyan Farlander. The 4-dice attack was, miraculously, mostly dodged, and resulted only in Keyan's shields dropping. Luckily for Keyan, at that moment, GEN Salm caught Fel with an ion blast, which sent him very, very slowly into a debris field. With Fel's maneuvers fixed and no chance to take an action, GEN Salm was able to finish off the wounded Interceptor on his next attack.
