    Question: Should I try to keep Krista alive or should I increase our escalation die by 1 and hope we kill him before the shadows get another round?

    I vote keep Krista alive, I think we're going to have a very tough time taking Garen out quickly if the damage his shadows do also heal him.

    Hmm, actually just realized my heals are all nearby only, including Cure Wounds. It means I'd have to use my move and and standard action just to run towards her and then heal her. I think I'm gonna test my luck instead.

    I'm not entirely sure how my feat works with mooks, but I *think* since mooks are kind of treated as one creature in that damage carries over, everyone now gets also a +1 to hit on the shadow mooks because of my leadership feat.

    @dracil Your interpretation is how I understand mooks to work as well. For intents and purposes, other than placement, engagement, etc., consider them 1 creature.

    @discrider Wow, that stat block is much clearer. I will incorporate those ideas going forward to clean up the confusion of mapless combat a little. Thank you.

    The larger bugbear, who seems quite oafish when you see him lumber towards the light-wielding magical duo of Van and Fultur, disregarding Garen's order to wait, is stopped short by Sabeiha. The bugbear seems pleased enough to swing at anything and tries to hit her. Sabeiha sidesteps effortlessly and knocks the brute with the pommel of her sword just hard enough to stagger him.

    Krista quickly comes to her sense and flees from the fray. She weaves a quick shield spell that hopefully will protect her from further damage and manages to impart some of that magic to Caldon.
    The bugbear fails spectacularly. Unfortunately, Sabeiha can only counter when the escalation die is even, but since he rolled a 1, I'm going to rule that he loses a move action on his turn. Krista is now removed from combat and safe. Her spell gives Caldon +1 to all defenses until the end of his next turn.

    Peeking out from behind his pew, Maldras sees the Bugbear charging towards the light wielders, only to be stopped short but Sabeiha.
    Having skipped a beat mid-bar at the sight, he quickly expels the rest of the song angrily at the Bugbear, drawing energy from him, fostering strength in Van and sharpening Fultur's sight.
    Satisfied, he reloads his crossbow in preparation for the next attack.

    The bugbear seems torn as to who to shoot first, the wizard that struck his master or the cleric that freed his prisoner. Fear of reprisal wins out and he fires an arrow at Fultur catching him square in the meat of his thigh.

    With a wave of Vanminar's hand, the motes of light move from Fultur to surround Golnar instead. "That will protect you from some of the drow's magics, go!" the sorcerer tells Golnar.

    Van turns a small knob on his wand with his thumb, but only manages to blast himself with a freezing mist.
    Casting Trick of Light on Golnar and myself. I'm hoping to take out most of the shades myself so the trick of light seems more useful for Golnar now.

    Fultur appears annoyed that the Bugbear would bother to shoot him. Ignoring the arrow for now he turns his attention to the shadows. He pulls out a tiny rainbow opal and hurls it in their direction rumbling "Color Spray!"

    Instead of paying attention to the results of his spell, he instead focuses his attention on Garen, watching the adept's hands.
    Casting Color Spray and targeting the shadows. Then Fultur will prepare to use counter-magic against Garen if the adept recovers and tries to cast a spell.

    Geth roll 1d4 for total number of shadows affected (astrobstrd it's probably best if you determine which one this kills)
    Geth roll 1d20+4+1+2+1 for Color Spray against MD
    Geth roll 2d8 for damage

    Geth roll 1d20+4+1+2+1 for counter-magic against MD

    As a strategy note, I figured this was the best possible solution for what to do with Fultur's turn. It leaves him vulnerable, but it could save people and may give us an opportunity to put some hurt on Garen.

    I'll give the other folks until Friday to respond, then I'll just assume we're recruiting more than one. If any of you guys want to re-tweak your characters or even switch out, now is the time to do so. I do have 13 True Ways now, so any class (or multiclass) is open. @Grunt's Ghosts feel free to post a character whenever. I'll open recruitment to take 6 PCs total. First level, standard array or rolled stats. Keep rolls unless horrendous (No post bonus score of 16 or more, or 3 stats less than 9.), then take an array instead. Feel free to work with the Icons and history as written so far and create your own stories with good liberty.

    Great! Good to hear from all you guys! Shame Boozer is out, but with this being dead for almost exactly a year, it is understandable if people have more going on now.     @Grunt's Ghosts Looks good. Is your feat for Color Spray or Jack of Spells? Also, If you are describing your songs, assume a +2 for Songmaster to keep things flowing. If you do an especially great one, or are lazy about it, I'll chime in, but +2 for some extra patter or even lyrics, works for me.
