Question guys...any tips on how to play with LMGs? I'm usually an AR/SMG kinda guy and probably rush too much...so any advice on being effective with these guys is welcome.
LMG's are map specific for me I cant get them going on certain maps that are all short tight corners and short sight lines. If I can move slowly see a lot of my surroundings and stay in ADS most of the time I do a lot better with them. They excel for me in objective games where you can hold a side of the map for your team by setting up in a good spot and playing defense. several times I have effectively cut a map in half for my team. Now to be clear I am not very good in general...I barely pull positive KD's in public matches because I operate best in groups with a cohesive strategy and with defined roles, but hopefully a little insight from somebody who isn't already good at everything is helpful.

If you want an LMG that's more conducive to that playstyle, check out the Dingo. High ROF, lower movement penalty, decent hipfire for an LMG. Otherwise what was stated earlier, gotta slow the pace a little bit to get the most out of them.
I just played this a bit, because it was free and, I might be wrong here, but didn't the drakon have 40 reserve ammo during the beta? (which I also played, because it was free)
That seems like way more than enough, 100 shots with that thing seems real dumb.
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
LOL is the meltdown in reddit real? Is ther Skill Based matchmaking in blops now?
I think so. I started seeing 10-15 games open when I search now as opposed to the 50 or more I used to get.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
I've never been a huge fan of SBMM in these games. In competitive/ranked modes, sure. But in randos? Get outta here with that, I say. Going on a tear and making the enemy team curse your name as you drop killstreak after killstreak is, like, THE fantasy of CoD.
A light touch is fine. By all means, keep the guy that's prestiged 20 times from playing against someone that's level 10. But the way this is sounding, I think it might be very strict.
I gotta admit even when I step into one of those 75 vs 180 games and the Mothership is over me I laugh out loud. I don't know id COD is the right game for SBMM.
I play through those games where you can't even spawn and move with out eating a bucket of lead (Nuketown...ugh), but I also just leave that lobby and find another cause I don't find it fun to be on the end of some dudes 87-5 round, especially if its domination where the games over by the first half and the second half is them just dropping RAPS over and over again.

I stay if I started in the game where my team is getting wrecked...but if matchmaker drops me in after the beatdown is already well in progress, hells no.
Oh man yeah the worst is when you spawn during round 2 of domination and the first 30 seconds the sky is covered in RAPS, Counter UAVs, Wraiths and Cerberus. I should quit...
I think he would've been a little better if he just did the voice over. When you can actually see him, it's much more obvious he isn't at all comfortable.

lol @MayGodHaveMercy I think Stormvoid was getting a little butthurt over your casual ribbing, he can be a little delicate, though I mean like, I didn't even know it was possible to not stomp the hell out of the other team when using a xim. When I used one in the past I had like an 80% headshot rate with the single shot rifles and it's only that low because I'm garbo in general.
Yea I think that's the real culprit definitely. I'm pretty sure I would have hated Hijacked in blops 2 if I had to play it 5 times in a row ever time it came up in the rotation. The close frantic maps are good to change up the pace but not every fucking match.

Some of the time, these thing match up with what we are seeing. Just as often, they do not. I honestly do not care how many of your followers and subs agree with you."

The weapon balance seems pretty good. I don't think I've encountered a specific weapon way more than others. Certain specialist weapons on the other hand...

I mean, before the last patch the only 2 guns anyone ever used were the MVP and the KN44, but it got better since then
I hadn't noticed anything like that on PC. Anyway, the KN44 being used more often doesn't mean it's OP. I mean, it's the assault rifle you have access to when you start. It makes perfect sense that more people would be using it.
Ok, I have kind of an odd question for this thread, as it's more of a general question than a question about this game in particular. My nephew just got this game for Christmas, (Xbox1) and watching him play was... painful. I asked my sister how many FPS games he'd played and apparently this is his first one. Before I left I told him to play through the single player as I knew he'd get murderized online, but I was wondering how to help teach the kid a little of how these games work without taking over the controller. I only got to watch him play for about an hour, and explained what screen icons meant, how to follow waypoints, and that he had to look up for enemies on upper tiers. However all the tech stuff was new to me so I couldn't give him any advice there. He did pick the easiest difficulty, which I was thankful for, anyway. I just don't want him to get discouraged with something that is totally knew for him because he's dying every ten minutes.

For a beginner, in CoD multiplayer especially, I would tell him, IT'S OK TO DIE, until he gets more comfortable. Another thing I would tell him for MP is to watch the killcam, so he knows what killed him, who was looking at him and what circumstance killed him. But that's MP only.
I almost never play single-player in CoD and I wonder if a beginner to FPS would be better served by something a little more forgiving, like Halo 1.

Play zombies with him...I found out about so many of my non gamer friends bad habits in the first Blops by being able to see it first hand in a wee bit more controlled environment. When he is regularly not causing you to die and burning through all his ammo because he can't hit anything re-release him into the wild.
I'd love to, but I'm with either the PC or PS4. His friends must all have Xboxes or something, because he traded in an almost unused PS3 plus the games he had to get the Xbox. So I'm kinda stuck doing this long distance without being able to watch what he does.

That's actually a huge shame especially since, from the sounds of the campaign, you can play it entirely in co-op. I mean, another alternative (if at all possible) would be to jump into a private 1v1 match and just have him practice shooting at you, you tapping him to try to get him to pick up on the directional cues and react appropriately, and generally easing him into it like putting on a gimp suit. This is also how I try to acclimate friends to Battlefield games who aren't used to playing Battlefield games.
On an unrelated note, thanks to GMG's "Best of 2015" sale, I am now a CodBro too. Albeit a PC CodBro. So, if anybody wants to team up for whatever (and wouldn't mind playing with a guy who makes Uncle Lou look MLGPro), hit me up! SteamID should be in my sig.

wife and little guy flew up to NJ ahead of me; I have nothing to do other than play video games. anyone going to be on later?

I love that video. Not just hyping, but talking about design philosophy and lane structure. I wish people did that more often.

I hate that guy after 5 seconds of his video.
Why are youtubers always the worst
Oh, wait....

Combine is probably one of the best maps, but goddamn. Enable the 1 replay rule like BLOPS 2 had. We don't need to play combine 6 times in a row.

Oh yeah I got video evidence.
Double phrasing.
