Yay! Another racer! Just be sure to add some of us fellows to your friends list so we can invite you when we're racing.

Also, I won't be on tonight. Got stuck with the evening shift. :|

    The ordered new toy:

    Scheduled for February production.

Gotta get my affinity maxed out before Mini Takes the States. Probably doing the Pittsburgh, Detroit, St. Ignace, and Green Bay stops. Dunno if any of you are on that route.

The TS040 is incredibly fun. Clearly not as fast as the OP 787B but damn. Also when you let off the gas it just sounds amazing.

Also sorry for hitting you real bad on bathurst eclibull. My mazda was autotuned and uh... basically uncontrollable.

So I watched this documentary about Paul Newman's racing life. Now all I want to do is try driving some of those higher powered Datsuns.

Didn't get this posted over the weekend, but close enough.

Okay, we have a few options:

    Option A :
    Classic American 60s Muscle Series
Take one of the following cars, build it to a PI of 450 (which is mid-C). Stock PI included for convenience:
    1969 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport 396 (338)
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe (331)
    1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (305)
    1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 (350)
1966 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport (338)
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI (378)
    1969 Dodge Charger R/T (368)
1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock (392)
    1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 (333)
1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe (325)
    1968 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 442 (334)
    1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S (283)
1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (341)
    1969 Pontiac GTO Judge (340)
    1968 Pontiac Firebird (312)
    1969 Shelby GT500 428CJ (324)
    1968 Shelby GT-500KR (320)

    Option B :
If we want a higher PI, it'll probably be a Spec series. So, a car in either B or A with a limited set upgrades. If we want to do that, I need help in picking out a car that a majority of the group would find fun with limited/no upgrades (so no AWD or FWD, reasonably controllable for everyone, not DLC etc.) If we go with this option, I will need people to suggest a car that meets those requirements. A car from a maker fewer people are likely to have maxed would be a bonus.

    Option C :
A Versus series. Same deal as Option B but with 2 cars that are competitive with each other. A compelling theme is not needed but would be appreciated. Same deal as B that this will need suggestions for working cars, same restrictions as B, limited upgrades.

Figure we can talk this over between now and Tuesday night, then Wednesday I will either draw up what we decided or I will pick one for us (it will likely be Option A or B with my original choice the Maserati Ghibli Cup unless I get some alternate suggestions). Thursday's race night can then be some shakeout/exhibition sessions with the series properly starting next week.

I am fine with all those options, but A sounds the most fun. I don't know if everyone is ok doing a series in muscle cars. Personally I want to do it specifically because we don't do much muscle cars and it would be a bit of a challenge. Maybe a short series of that if people don't want to do a long thing with muscle cars?

Manteo's list. I'll figure it out tonight and get a corrected list up tomorrow (especially if that's what we're going for). Easiest way is to go in game, go to Find A Car and sort by year, filter to D class. It's practically the entire 1960s tab, save for the Impala, the Stingray (which could arguably be included, but I feel is a bit too different from the rest of the list) and the Euro cars.

EDIT:Corrected list for option A (the sheet was pulling in earlier Forza's cars, unhelpfully):

    1969 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport 396 (338)
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe (331)

Forza 6 Serious Business Cup: Season 2 - Classic American Muscle

    Car List: (Stock PI)
    1969 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport 396 (338)
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe (331)
    1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 396 (350)

    1968 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 442 (334)
1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (341)
    1969 Pontiac GTO Judge (340)

    Series Starting PI: 450

    Required Parts:
    Full Race Rollcage

    Banned Parts:
    Engine Swaps
    Drivetrain Swaps

    ---

Yes, the PI is 450. That means some real serious choices are going to have to be made, especially considering just how much PI tires cost on these cars. Aspiration swaps are okay if you want to try them. Race Brakes aren't required right now but may be added if it proves to be a problem (AKA if you skimp on brakes and rear end people, they're going on).

Thursday will just be a shakedown night, we'll run a bunch of races with these cars, different tracks, maybe 1-2 slightly longer (but not Series length) races. A schedule will then go up with a week from Thursday being opening night.

Still taking car suggestions on the other options that didn't get used (Spec or Spec Versus), which can be the next series.

The GT Coupe will be interesting, since it is the most unlike the rest of the list (1k lbs lighter, much better in corners, much worse in straights). If it proves OP at all it should be facisnating if it can overcome the power handicap.

I have a Nova built (thumbs up, Bear), but also want to throw together a couple alternates for myself before tonight. I'm thinking a Boss 302 and either a Chevelle or a Olds.

Also have to come up with a track list. I'm thinking Spa is a better "Finale" track for these cars. I'm not sure they're well suited for a 'ring race, beyond just the "They're C Class" issue with Green Hell.

I just ran 53 test drive laps tuning a car for this.
Unrelated: I've remembered why I don't tune things.

I'm annoyed with myself because I reached the point where I was finessing dampers and didn't save what felt like a good setup, then couldn't find it again. So I've lost myself a couple tenths in the process. Blarg.

I had saved it just before going into damping, but not when I found the random set of numbers I actually liked. Everything else (besides gearing, which I didn't touch) is much easier to remember and tinker with individually. Damping has a lot of interlinked pieces, so I dun fucked up.

Thanks for waiting for me tonight, guys. And sorry I couldn't use party chat.

I've been having some network issues lately, which can be mostly attributed to loose cables.

However, when I rebooted my router after that first race of the night where I was ghosting, my router decided not to assign any WiFi devices IP addresses. I was able to use the ethernet cable for my compy with my Xbox, but it gave me a strict NAT which not even DMZing remedied. :|

    Results.

I don't think I have enough info (partly thanks to our multitude of technical difficulties) to condemn anyone into any buckets yet, but we'll see how some practice laps go on Tuesday or at worst wait until Thursday to figure that out.

For boosts, about the only ones I'm sure need PI boosts are acid and I (we were the only consistent under-performers in both races that didn't have outside excuses), but I'm not sure on the amount. I'll probably set up a tune for myself around +5 and +10 and see how those shake out. acid can probably go ahead and go at somewhere around +10.

Acid deserves the extra PI since I tied him for points with my super special 1 point for missing Road Atlanta.

That Brazillian dish I was talking about:
    Feijoada Completa.
    botequim-a-mineira-orquidea.jpg
Feijoada has been described as a national dish of Brazil, especially of Rio de Janeiro, as other parts of Brazil have other regional dishes.[3][4][5] Brazilian feijoada (feijoada brasileira) is prepared with black beans,[3] a variety of salted pork or beef products, such as pork[3] trimmings (ears, tail, feet),[3] bacon, smoked pork ribs, and at least two types of smoked sausage and jerked beef (loin and tongue) and in some regions of the northeast, like Bahia and Sergipe they usually add vegetables like cabbage, kale, potatoes, carrots, okra, pumpkin, chayote and sometimes banana. They are added at the end of the cooking, on top of the meat, so they are cooked by the vapors of the beans and meat stew. This stew is best prepared over low fire in a thick clay pot. The final dish has the beans and meat pieces barely covered by a dark purplish-brown broth. The taste is strong, moderately salty but not spicy, dominated by the flavors of black bean and meat stew.

It is customary to serve it with white rice and oranges, the latter to help with digestion.
