Alright guys, I'm teetering on getting this game or Divinity Original Sin. I know OS is a CRPG but requires a lot of strategy and patience, but what sort of game is Dragon's Dogma? Is it like a Souls style game? Or is it more a 3rd person action RPG? Do you make your own character? I've having a hard time finding a basic intro video

Those two games are completely different. This is a 3rd person, open world, action RPG with a LOT of rough edges.

What do you mean by rough edges? Like parts that are unpolished or glitchy or parts that are harder then they should be or...?

The savegame system is pure ass(there's a mod for this tho), the writing is close to the worst, you'll want to find a person for a quest but they only exist in the world at specific hours. Stuff like that.

I didn't know about the savegame mod and I failed a bunch of quests because I did them out of order, it overwrote my save after failing the quests. Then my savegame got corrupted. Since there is only one I lost 40-50 hours of gameplay.

The game world itself is a lot of fun to explore and the combat is good action fun. Easily one of the most fun to actually play of most action RPGs.

So it really depends on what you're looking for in a game.

Divinity also has bad writing but it's not nearly as bad as this game's. The re-release of Divinity polished it up a good bit as well.

Hmm ok, I might wait on Dragons Dogma then. I like what I've seen of it and the combat looks great, but if theres thats much of an issue with some other parts of the game I might wait for it to be on sale. If I grab it for $20 or less and theres issues I have to mod out it stings less then at a $40 price point. Thanks for the info, made the decision easier.

I just got the most powerful sword in the game. I feel like i need to get it dragon forged but that requires a lot more effort than i want to put into a weapon already better than everything else.

I also forgot how powerful sorcerer is. it is very powerful.

    I hired a forumer's pawn named Molly
She would summon mortar rounds once in a while
A griffin was burned beyond recognition
In fact it was so toasty that I actually felt like I did something bad in real life

I played this game at launch on ps4.
I wish another game would use the climb on huge enemies mechanic.

I love how ridiculous the spells in this game are.

Like, in most games a wizard casts a fireball and you're like, "yeah, that's cool."

In this one a wizard casts a fireball and you're like, "OH FUCK, REMIND ME TO NEVER PISS YOU OFF."

Dunno, I've seen plenty of wizards riding an ogre like a rodeo.

They're not supposed to be but yknow.

that's what the mystic knight and magic archer are for

the magic archer's ultimate dagger skill is literally "set yourself on fire", and you can't get any more magically-melee than that

That was me!! And I based her off @The Betgirl :3

Btw, I'm desperately seeking and Abyssal Eye for the BBI quest so I can buy rancid bait meat. It drops from the Gazer, the first mandatory boss on BBI. It isn't a guaranteed drop. If anyone has one that can gift me to CilliaBlack on steam I'll gladly send it back.
