Oh, neat, apparently the Thresher didn't get delayed again. (Mine's supposedly coming tomorrow.) And the chef got previewed in the new NQ, it hands out Comfort Food to friendly warrior models in it's command range.

So, I just moved from Delaware (no scene here) to Texas, near Houston. As I was clearing out my room, I found all my Warmachine models.
Holy shit, I completely forgot how much Menoth I have.
Anyway. Anyone live in the Houston area? I'm looking to break out my minis, catalog my stuff, and paint up 50 points.
Huh, I remembered there was a big group around U of D a few years back, I guess they evaporated?
I found two groups, one at Superior Comics, and one at Our Game Table. Honestly really couldn't stand either of them, OGT had terrible staff and an annoying PG, while SG had this impenetrable clique that would just continually talk during the game and would mostly ignore you the whole time.
That was in Dover, which was a 30 minute drive in good traffic (aka October through May). Newark was closer to an hour.
Asgard looks like 45 minutes from me (Texas City). I'll check it out.
Kreoss1 and a butchered Harby mod (got it for free) were seemingly left in Delaware. Also got some Sea Dogs and a Mariner with Fiona. Are pirates still garbage?
Ahh okay, I was a bit further north (Newark was about 30 min away for me but in the other direction) so I basically knew that they were there by hearsay.
Sucks about that clique situation though. Good luck with finding a group in Texas.

If you are looking for games in Houston, there are several locations and options. The first option is the Houston Warmachine Facebook group to let other people know that you'll be showing up at X place at Y time. As for locations, in Kingwood on the northeast side, you have Swords and Superheroes. While they may not have the biggest room for gaming (meh), they have about the best stock of miniatures. If something has been released, they should have it. They also have another store in Cypresswood which is more closer to Houston on the north side. There is Fat Ogres at I45 and Rayford-Sawdust (north side again) which has about the best gaming area out of all the stores in Houston. It has plenty of room, light, parking, people, etc. Asgard Games - as someone has mentioned earlier - is probably the location where the most competitive players gather. However, it feels like a smaller version of Fat Ogres - and the parking just stinks. Aside from those places, there are other smaller game stores such as Montag's on the SW side that have plenty of tables of gaming, but you will definitely need to reach out to the Facebook group to let people know you are going to be there.
Lord_AsmodeusgoeticSobriquet:Here is your magical cryptic riddle-tumour: I AM A TIME MACHINERegistered Userregular
Not sure I'm 100% on board with the stegosaurus tail but everything else is super. Also it's in plastic! Glorious, beautiful plastic.
And there's a model for this now too, which is not in plastic it's white metal, but is still cool.
Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. - Lincoln
I'm trying hard to not start collecting Blindwater stuff.
Going to be hard to resist once I get a unit of Gatormen for my Skorne...

I'm going to start collecting gators as soon as I get a stable stream of money I can throw at some white metal models (fortunately at least some of their stuff is in plastic now, which I generally prefer)

Though the majority of soulless taken in by the Retribution live out brief lives as anti-magic escorts for the group’s soldiers, a select few receive specialized training to become voidtracers. They are skilled but expendable mage hunters, trained to sacrifice themselves for the success of the mission. Without fear of death, they fight ably alongside other Retribution forces to clear the way to their target with swift, reflexive swordplay. Like other soulless, voidtracers absorb arcane energies employed by the mages they hunt, but they can also reflect it back to the spellcaster in a focused impulse, creating a deadly feedback surge.

It is not even listed on the PP website, none of the FLGS's in the Greater Toronto Area have it in stock. One of them even told me that their distributor is out therefore there is 0% chance of ever getting it.
That seems odd for it being only a few months old, yes? I REALLY need that Legion material for my IKRPG game!
PP put up a podcast, in which they discuss a bunch of new stuff coming out this year.
If you're like me and couldn't be bothered listening, here's a summary of what they talked about (spoilered for length):
Malachus, the Burning Truth
PoM Warcaster, Priest of the Incindium
Feora's left-hand minister of propaganda
Inspired by Cleansers and Kingpin from Daredevil
Med-based, "The Butcher of the Protectorate"
Massive staff/torch with spears on the end that makes fire
Has a book chained to his hand
He makes fires bigger
Feat is "Butcher-like" in its escalation of flames (additional damage die?)
"Cloaked in Ash" (has Ashen Veil?)
Broadside Bart-like influences his BG and gets more flames out of his warjacks
Ragnar Skysplitter
Trollkin Runeshaper warlock
One of the largest trollkin warlocks
2-handed maul made from a shattered krielstone
Scrolls on his back, gesturing up to the air
Makes explosive earthquakes
Rival to Doomshaper
Major Maddix, female warcaster
Stormknight warcaster
Small-based, BIG sword
Can shoot lightning from her sword as well
Protectorate POW, captured during invasion of Sul, released later
Bane Witch Agathea
Bane caster, buffs herself?
Spent time in the void
Grim Reaper as a hot woman, floating up on a skirt of souls, scythe/pole-axe
Angel-wings for her turbine
Gaspy-tall, but narrow.
Kaya2-like feat: yo-yo for battlegroup.
Tannith the Feralsong
Circle Warlock, Disciple of Wyrmwood
Staff weapon made of blades and the roots of Wyrmwood
Looks more like a blackclad, flowing cloak
Antithesis of Kaya - not nice to her beasts
"Circle Enforcer"
Cryx-like offensive magic
Magister Helena
"Miss Shyeel 2016"
Arcane Mechanik/myrmidon creator
Buffs her 'jacks, Ossyan's S.O.
Some Vyre Force-manipulation techniques
Beastmaster Zakaar
Skorne warlock
Had been shot in the face by Gunnbjorn in the fluff
Wielding two barbed whips with scorpion-tail stings
He's a weaponmaster who uses his whips for arcane purposes
Can transfer spells to targets he hits
Lord Khazlov, Vicount of Skarsgrad
Khador caster, giant axe, honorable/noble
Started as an Iron Fang warcaster
Kryssa, Conviction of Everblight
Legionairre caster with an athanc shard
Cloak-skirt like Legionairre
2016: "The Year of the Gunmage"
Satyxis Gunsligners
Thorn Gunmages (Amethyst Rose) - assassins of the Llaelese resistance
Caine3 - connected to the B13 (late 2016 release)
What I find even more interesting is Caine 3. Caine 1/2 has been my tournament pairing for the past 6 months. Can't wait to find out what Caine 3 can do.
Well - all they did was introduce all the brand new casters and name dropping Caine 3 at the end. Maybe either its a really big book and everyone gets 3 casters (new one + 2 epics) - so Siege 2 is still a possibility. Or Caine 3 is from the book AFTER that - which also means Siege 2 is still possible .
So the Warmachine crew at my LGS is doing a journeyman league with the switch being that we can run a full 15 pt list from week one. Since they are talking about playing on nights I can normally go I'm considering lists to join in:
Ended up going with PHaley, two Defenders, and Squire.
First match was against PZaal with Scarabs, Cyclops Shaman, and Bronzeback. I popped feat early and erased the Shaman, but I probably should have reserved it since I realized I didn't have any direct way of killing the Bronzeback, and it was able to walk up to Haley and pound her into the ground after ripping off the arm of my Defender as it charged past to hit Zaal.
What I should have done probably was take a couple of turns sniping the Shaman down, while Haley chain lightninged off the Bronzeback onto the Scarabs to remove them, then pop feat and poor shots into Zaal to force him to transfer into the Bronzeback to kill it.
Second match was against PCaine with Ace, Avenger, Minuteman. Devastated the Minuteman early on by removing its Cortex and arm, the Avenger missed the Squire and therefore couldn't knock down Haley. I scrambled the Avenger hoping to get it to run through Caine to knock him down but it ran at the wrong angle. I popped feat but didn't need it as one Defender rolled 11(!) to hit him and that was that.

I will be very sad when they reveal that they're not Mercenary models
I believe they explicitly said that they'll be Mercenary models that work for Cygnar and the Protectorate.
