Nothing planned at the moment. Just trying to take breaks and draw for fun more often. I'm sort of casually participating in the "March of Robots" challenge to draw a robot a day but I didn't start until about half way through the month.
I've started picking up some of the Copic markers with the brush tips. I like that you can get a much more blended look than with the chisel/bullet tips. The blue blobby stuff around the chameleon in this one was done with a Copic and it has a nice soft edge to it more like watercolor.
I probably have 80-100 Prismacolor markers although they're just in a big tub and some are duplicates. I really should weed through them one of these days. Some of them I've had for over 10 years and they're pretty dried out.
I haven't really used the Copics enough to compare them. I like the Prismacolor and they're cheaper so it's easier to build up a collection without going broke. Most of the time I'm not being this fancy with them, just using them to quickly figure out colors on a concept so quality isn't a huge issue.
Your application on these robots is pretty great, always impressed with marker work. I have some that I mess around with on occasion, but I never actually try and do anything clean with them.
How much of that color variation is achieved by going over a section 2+ times? Specifically wondering about the bridge of the nose and the circular area of the "mouth". I'm pretty sure you used at least two different value grays - the lightest and the darkest (2nd darkest if you count the area under the brow) - but I can't tell if you used 3 or 4 grays total, or if you just built up those in-betweens with additional passes.

If I need to blend, I usually lay down the lighter gray, then do the darker, then use the lighter again to blend.
