I want to know a few things first:

    1) How many hours from now does the vote close? I've got my forum time stuck on GMT-7, but I'm not sure that's the right one. o_O (timezone noob)

    2) Are there any first-timers among us? It's common courtesy to not kill/jail them early in the game, so a little list would be nice.

    On to the voting~

!jail Zot for accumulated points in the lame-column.

!give VisibleHowl the Tome. He's smart enough and knows better than to double-cross the village on day 1, so he's as safe a choice as any.

I will try not to bandwagon someone new on day 1, but that doesn't mean I will not do it.

New players can be specials as well.

Right, you are Spectre. If they're acting obviously like bad guys, we can kill them early. But we can at least give them a chance for a few days. As for new people, these are the ones I'm not familiar with:
    Matatat
    Stew_Stick
    zanmatto
    Lord_Aetos

zanmatto is the only one I'm sure on, but feel free to let me know if I'm mistaken about the others.

But what about Koan? I don't remember him/her playing in any phallas I've kept an eye on.

Lord_Aetos was in a few other games.

He's not new, but still a newbie.

Koan may be more memorable if he kept his big orange avatar. He's played a few games and was one of the Evil dudes in the Bang! Phalla.

Oh, I didn't keep track of the phalla. But okay.

    So:

    New kids:

    Matatat
    Stew_Stick
    zanmatto

Please do not kill these guys in the first few days unless you're convinced that they are a grave danger to you victory conditions.

whats the difference between jailed games and kill games? is there a way for jailed characters to get out of jail?

And why the heck CAN'T we kill the newbies? Someone tried to zap me day one in Phallanoia! Of course, our blasters didn't work on day one...

Hey, maybe in this Phalla, winning is losing! Therefore, I !vote myself for the Tome, because sanity is for suckers!

There's really no difference, it's just a distinction made by the theme and how the person running it thinks the mob vote should be interpreted.

As for new players, it's not that we can't kill them, it's just generally considered bad form to do so early on. The reasoning being, if they die at the beginning, they don't really get a chance to play at all, and if they don't have at least semi-good time, they might not come back for a second round.

Also, the first couple of bandwagons are total shots in the dark, mainly decided by previous game grudges, or things doing things that the majority finds horribly irritating (MSPaint wars, speaking solely in haiku, etc).

There are so many better choices than picking the new guy that no one knows anything about, that it really just doesn't seem right. Sure, if they openly say they're a bad guy, or if every other word is a racial slur so offensive that even SE wouldn't tolerate it, by all means. But if not, hey, why not give a guy a chance.

The new person ban is more of the fact it's just so gauche to kill a noobie day 1. It's not like a real rule or anything, it just lacks style.

I think the same applies to killing certain "popular" people early on. Precision K eats a lot of day 1 deaths so I would find it lacking in class to kill him day one. Aldo has all kinds of bad luck so the same goes for him.

Spectre is permissible, nay, encouraged to kill as soon as possible.

I find it questionable how there's almost this air of fashion behind people's votin' styles, particularly on Day 1.

which would make MacSpectre this year's black.

Well I think we should all be trying to work together instead of splitting our votes up. Right now Visiblehowl is already in the lead for green and if he wins the tome we can see what happens when one has possession of it. I don't mind being the test subject but since we already have a volunteer we should just stick with him.

So for day 1 i'm !voting Visiblehowl for the Tome.

Would someone be able to fill me in on what they guess would be bad guys? I've only played a little bit of the game so I don't know the full story.

I know we have like 3 different evil ancient things, then probably have innocent people and probably like the people working to stop the evil ancients or what not. Or am I possibly off on that guess?

Chattur'gha - Chattur'gha is the Ancient God of Strength and powers of the Flesh. Chattur'gha's immense physical power gives him an advantage over Xel'lotath, whose madness does not affect the mindless, but his focus on pure force leaves him unable to defend against the magicks of Ulyaoth.

Ulyaoth - Ulyaoth (Master of the Planes) is the Ancient God of Magick. Ulyaoth's sway over the fabric of the universe gives the plotting, scheming god an advantage against the brutish Chattur'gha, who relies on pure physical force. Due to Ulyaoth's focus on building mental faculties, he is susceptible to the madness induced by Xel'lotath.

Xel'lotath - Xel'lotath is the Ancient Goddess of Madness. Xel'lotath's infectious madness gives her an advantage over the scheming Ulyaoth, who relies on careful planning; but she is easily overwhelmed by the sheer strength of Chattur'gha.

Yeah, we know that HB is using the Ancients, but we have no idea if he will be using any of the actual characters from the games. Pious is questionable as he generally works for only 1 of the 3 Ancients. (WHich would be gamebreaking, considering his strength.)
