I had a recency bias thing with Garry Shandling, as I was just thinking of him a week or so ago. I tweeted that John Kasich looks like a cross between Shandling and John Laroquette.
Michael Stipe covered The Man Who Sold the World on The Tonight Show as a preview to the two live events in NYC tomorrow and Friday, and I really like it:
I highly recommend listening to the recent duet album with Merle and Willie Nelson (Django and Jimmie), it's really wonderful. You can hear some weakness in Merle's voice but Willie sounds the same as always.

Doris Roberts, most famous for Everybody Loves Raymond, has passed peacefully.

This year really is sucking goat's balls. Victoria Wood is probably one of the life-defining comedians for me. Such glorious, timeless ever-so-sharp observations and character studies.
