OH, NO.
I'm having a terrible premonition. It involves a quantity of oil-filled lanterns, a wooden structure containing a lot of paper, and Malachi.

Seems odd not one of the drop packages would have contained something that generated light.

I was internally debating this earlier, because I wasn't sure if the surprise was over a lantern or a battery powered lantern.

Actually, it just struck me that there is no light at all until Tanner turns the nob.
That doesn't necessarily rule out oil, but battery makes so much more sense.
And I'm realizing what I mistook as a wick is actually a bulb.

Now, I'm picturing Linus growing up in a house of musicians when all he wants is quiet to read his books. And one of them is obsessed with Rick Springfield. Now Linus silently resents that they keep getting copies of Late, Late at Night.
