    Pokemon doesn't really have battles between players and direct win or lose competition between players except for the gyms so there isn't much of a reason to tear down other players.

    Imagine if they did have battles between players where losses meant something and encouraged cut throat EVE Online style competition. Finite Pokemon spawns that only respawned occasionally and could be taken before you find them.

    The problem is that if you make a kids game with losses that matter
    And you have them locally with strangers
    And the kids are holding $300 - $800 machines that break easily

    You are going to have a lot of broken phones and mad parents
