    Rasputin's in every clan.

    He's also listed as a
    A mage and a werewolf.

He eventually showed up in Wraith as someone with a high level of the possession ability, explaining why so many groups claim he was one of them.

The actual reason is it started off a mistake and became a running gag.

Part of me thinks Kazuma Kaneko's in on the joke, since in Raidou Kuzunoha he's a
    robot.

Tempted by that Humble Bundle, but I've already picked up the V20 from the Drive Thru RPG sale, so not sure if I want to pick up the earlier version or not. The Revised additions were the last versions before they ended the oWoD, right?

I do recommend 2nd Edition of Mage if you are a fan of the first edition. It really smooths around a lot of the edges, and in my opinion I find it easier to understand as while it might be more complex, the mechanics mesh better together imo. From some of my others players I've shown it, they seem to get it pretty easily as well. So I think it is doing something right.

On the more recent conversation, my understanding so far is that the CofD is going on mostly because Paradox doesn't really want to get into pnp RPGS with the brand as they find the video game market more profitable for them. It seems like they have some type of understanding as Onyx Path Publishing has a calendar full of releases for CofD and some support even for oWoD as well, which I don't think they would be doing if they thought they would lose the ability to make the books soon.

Actually Paradox definitely wants to get in on the books too, as they canceled the 4th edition of Vampire: the Masquerade that Onyx Path had in development in favor of their new "One World of Darkness," which will have new Vampire, Werewolf and Mage books based on the old World of Darkness: and also be pushed out into games, tv shows, movies. Anything they can shove it into, really.

Onyx Path gets to keep making New World of Darkness (now Chronicles of Darkness to avoid confusion), 20th Anniversary nostalgia stuff, and Exalted. (Plus Scion, Trinity and Scarred Lands, which OP purchased entirely from CCP)

I imagine we'll hear more about both White-Wolf's and Onyx Path's stuff at Gen Con this weekend.

Is Paradox the ones that are planning on doing a setting that's set in our time, like 2016 time? For some reason, I thought that I seen someone talking about that once around here, but I never heard anything about it since.

Yeah, I think their One World of Darkness is set in a modern era.

They did a concept video awhile back

And here's them going into a bit more detail on their plans

Huh, I had not heard that. The last article I read talked a lot about how they wanted to focus more on video games than the pnp, as they felt it didn't make money and was hard to even break even. It will be interesting to see how it goes cause it will be hard not to compete with Onyx Path as they are likely going to have similar products.

Also, my will broke down. For only $15, I couldn't resist getting all of those books.

Oh God... I'm not sure if I'm ready for a WoD tv show on Netflix, but I now want that more than anything else in the world. To what vampire must I send my blood to to make that happen?

I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a domitor of somebody in the industry. Thing is, she doesn't get out of bed in the evening for less than 2 gallons. Start saving up, boyo (girlo?).

  • Grunt's GhostsGrunt's Ghosts Registered User regular
Let's see... 8 pints in a Gallon, 16 pints to get this lady out of bed... four to eight weeks to replace that blood... so by myself it would take 128 weeks, 52 weeks in a year... 2.46 years to get her out of bed... so I should get help?

  • WhiteZinfandelWhiteZinfandel Your insides Let me show you themRegistered User regular
Yes, get "help". I recommend starting with transients.

It's easy to make fun of, but it's seriously an enjoyable show. It's a V:TM drama centered around the Camarilla, and it works. Brujah/Anarchs are basically the antagonists.

I didn't realize until after I chipped in; the books are available in epub as well. That's appreciated. I'm not sure the artwork is going to be there, but I'd rather read them that way than as a pdf on my tablet.

We're reading Rifts. You should too. You know you want to. Now With Ninjas!

They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

Epubs seem pretty high quality. Artwork is there, kinda stretched at times but still present.

Man, Gencon felt like a bust this year. Very little got announced. (Basically just Geist 2nd edition and a CoD Crossover Chronicle).

No major 20th anniversary announcements, and White-Wolf didn't show off any of their One World of Darkness either.

  • Undead ScottsmanUndead Scottsman Registered User regular
    Woo!

Finished my Wraith collection. Now to figure out what order to read them in! I was going to do it by release date, but I can't find accurate date sod release beyond the year. :(

Hey, it has a lot of potential. I sort of ran a game based on it once. It's basically Dead Like Me: the RPG.

They also drop your Gnosis score by one.

And are probably illegal to carry in a lot of states.

Found a tidbit on reddit, of all places, that confirmed what I had suspected
Rich covered it in a Monday Meeting post in December-ish, I think.

Onyx Path announced a VTM4 in August of 2015 (with V20 not considered by us to be a proper edition)
Paradox purchased the White Wolf IP in October of 2015
The new Paradox-owned White Wolf wants to release their own new edition of VTM in the future, alongside a new AAA video game
WWP considers V20 to be the 4th edition, so their new release will be VTM5

So there's still a new edition happening, but it's called Fifth Edition, and White Wolf is doing it rather than us.

There's not much news to be had on it because A) their development time is longer because it's tied to the video game they're making, and B) WW is doing it and not us, so we don't have much to say about it.
We don't own V20. We never have. Onyx Path licenses Vampire: The Masquerade and the World of Darkness from White Wolf.

No edition of Vampire has continued publishing past the introduction of a new edition, with the exception of compilation books (which can now be handled via bundles on DriveThruRPG). So no, we will not be continuing to publish V20 once V5 is out.

Well, hopefully they can finish the in-the-works V20 books and leave the line remarkably complete as-is, anyway.

Oh I agree, the idea behind it was awesome. But GOD their execution just sucked beyond belief.
