So, Wings in stores today, yes? I'll probably try and grab a copy for the weekend so that I don't have to go out on black Friday and hunt for it. Anyone else like the new macro system? Now I can have a custom set for every job/subjob combination I regularly play, and on separate setups. Hooray.
So far, my only complaint with the expansion is that everyone I know will be so busy checking it out that I won't be able to get help with G1 or NM camping for days. *grumble grumble*

Pictures I took from the Fan Festival (excep that first one, which was a shot one of the photographers there took):

Nice pictures! I hate to think how much sloppy cosplay was at the Fan Festival, all those guys on stage had pretty good costumes, especially...

I need to know something you guys probably know best.

Out of the 6 new FFXI products available....

    Wings of Goddess for PS2 / 360 / PC

and new all expansions included Vana'Diel Collection 2008 for the same 3 platforms...

do ANY of them come packaged in paper in any way? Either a paper slip over a DVD case, or in a paper box?

I need to know so I can grab those one now before they sustain weeks of shelf life and wear. The others if just in plastic I can get much much later.

    Please lemme know. Thanks!

I have seen all of them in hard cases only. The sole exception is the "free" trial disks, which come packaged in cardboard.*

*The original version including the first expansion came with several hard plastic CD cases for the 4 disks. The second expansion also came in a hard plastic case, with 2 CDs back to back inside it. The third expansion ( Treasures) came in a THICK DVD case, with enough extra room in it for all the original disks. The Vana D'iel collection came in a similar case.

He actually won the constume contest, and could do "the laugh" in terrific fashion.

I'm not talking about what holds the cds, I'm talking about hte product boxes themselves.

Like the first PC release was a paper box. And even some of the later releases, like at least one of hte expansions, was a thick DVD style case, BUT still had a paper sleeve over/around that.

The 360 first release, for example, was a DVD case, but there was a paper sleeve around that.

So I'm wondering out of the 6 which have any paper packaging at all, either because its a box, or that there's a paper sleeve around the dvd case.

I'm assuming the PS2 expansion, for example, has no paper. It's just a dvd case.

I am closing this thread only because I am bitter and mean spirited. No other reason.
