Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer shooter with objective based modes which pits two teams of 6 players against each other. The game is designed around several classes where each character has unique abilities, with a cartoon art style similar to that found in Team Fortress 2 or in Pixar Animation movies.

Backstory -

Welcome to Overwatch™ Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities. In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world: OVERWATCH.

It ended the crisis and helped to maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But after many years, Overwatch's influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded. Overwatch is gone… but the world still needs heroes.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: DRAGONBLADE - Genji brandishes his katana for a brief period of time. Until he sheathes his sword, Genji can deliver killing strikes to any targets within his reach.

Biotic Field - Soldier: 76 plants a biotic emitter on the ground. Its energy projection restores health to 76 and any of his squadmates within the field.
ULTIMATE ABILITY: TACTICAL VISOR - Soldier: 76’s pinpoint targeting visor “locks” his aim on the threat closest to his crosshairs. If an enemy leaves his line of sight, Soldier: 76 can quickly switch to another target.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: DEADEYE - Focus. Mark. Draw. McCree takes a few precious moments to aim; when he’s ready to fire, he shoots every enemy in his line of sight. The weaker his targets are, the faster he’ll line up a killshot.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: PULSE BOMB - Tracer lobs a large bomb that adheres to any surface or unfortunate opponent it lands on. After a brief delay, the bomb explodes, dealing high damage to all enemies within its blast radius.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: RIP-TIRE - Junkrat revs up a motorized tire bomb and sends it rolling across the battlefield, climbing over walls and obstacles. He can remotely detonate the RIP-Tire to deal serious damage to enemies caught in the blast, or just wait for it to explode on its own.

    they should also add voice lines for characters when hit by certain abilities eg ana goo, sleep dart, hacking etc

    so road hog sleep talks about huffing forbidden petrol, junk rat about getting a nuke, mei complains about a a goo freezing on her etc

    and when hacked road hog has animation where he stares at his hook dumbfounded if you try to use it

    I think the deal with Ana's ult is that it works on similar LoS rules as D.Va's self-destruct

    If you stand in front of a rein and ult, it'll destroy his shield, buuuut anyone behind the shield will be protected, the EMP was stopped at the shield

    Similarly if Zarya bubbles and you ult, it'll take down the barrier but leave Zarya and her abilities untouched, as barriers block LoS effects.

    When you do get someone with the EMP it applies her normal hack effect, plus the shield damage effect.

    If you get hacked with your abilities on cooldown they'll be blocked but continue their normal cooldown timer. So if you get hacked when your sonic arrow has 7 seconds left, you'll still just be able to use your sonic arrow in 7 seconds, it won't add any additional time. If you have it back in 3 seconds, you'll have to wait until the hack wears off before you can actually use it.

    Sombra's hacking cast is slightly less than a second (?), but it'll be cancelled by taking damage. There's not really any indication you're getting hacked unless you're looking towards Sombra though, so flanking and then hacking is definitely the go-to plan. It'll also be blocked by shields and barriers, so shield characters do have ways to counter-play her.

    Sombra's stealth is also cancelled by taking damage. So if she stealths in the middle of a fight just keep shooting, as soon as she takes a hit her stealth drops. That's a big help for characters whose attacks have lots of ticks per second, like Zarya, Mei, Bastion, etc.

    Her teleporter is cool as hell and gives her tons of mobility, but in terms of combat utility it's definitely a step below Tracer's recall. It doesn't heal her, and it's visible just lying there. I think there's actually a lot of interesting counter-pick potential for Pharah - she can match Sombra's vertical mobility, fly mostly out of range of her hacking and SMG damage, splash damage her out of stealth and generally keep an eye on the battlefield and punish her for her flanks. If Junkrat spots her translocater he can trap+bomb it, which should be tremendously satisfying.

    Sombra's definitely a flanking opportunist, spotting weak enemies and quickly setting up an advantageous fight. Poorly organized teams are probably going to really hate her. At higher levels I think her head-to-head weakness is fights is going to put her in more of a control role, denying health kits to enemies and using hacks and EMP to set up big team pushes. Super excited to see how she plays in non 4-Sombra-on-each-team games

    I think her regular hack ability can't pass through barriers but her ult can.

    She can't. If she gets a hack from behind he can't use his shield, just like any other ability, but when his shield is between them she can't target through it. Similar to how a Zenyatta can't discord through a shield.

    Oh this is good to know:

    General
    • Sombra has a passive ability called opportunisic, which allows her to see enemies though walls if they are below 50% of their health.
    • She has a total of 200 health (all "normal" health).
    • Her SMG has a magazine size of 60.
    • Her SMG spread maxes out very quickly, then stays the same for the duration of her spray.
    • Turrets cannot target Sombra while she is invisible.
    • Healing an invisible Sombra as Mercy will not reveal her to the enemy (shows the beam to mercy, but does not reveal anything to the enemy).

    Teleporter
    • Here teleporter stays up for 15 seconds before disappearing.
    • The enemy cannot destroy her teleporter beacon.
    • If your teleporter has already been thrown, you can still teleport to it if you are hacked by an enemy Sombra.

    Hacking (In General)
    • Hack range is 9-10 meters.
    • Hack takes between 0.5 and 1 second to activate.
    • Taking damage cancels the hack.
    • Hacking an enemy lets you see their health bar and ultimate status.
    • When you hack an enemy, the ability cancel lasts 6 seconds, but your ability to see their health/ult status stays for 20-30 seconds (this applies to her ult, too).
    • You cannot hack though barriers/shields.
    • Hacking an enemy Lucio will stop them from switching songs, but will not actually stop the song itself.
    • Hacking someone who has been nanoboosted will not stop the nanoboost, but they will not be able to use their abilities.

    Hacking Health Packs
    • If you hack a health pack, it will recharge at 3x the regular speed for the duration of the hack.
    • When you hack a health pack, you can see a purple Sombra skull above it. The skull acts like a timer bar, slowly decreasing to show you how much time is left on the hack.
    • Health packs stay hacked for 60 seconds, but if you hack them slightly before the hack disappears you can "refresh" the hack countdown (when the skull is below 20%).
    • You cannot hack health packs during setup.
    • Enemies CAN see which health packs you have hacked, as well as the hacking meter above it (so they know how much time is left).
    • Multiple health packs can be hacked at the same time.

    Sombra's Ultimate Ability
    • Her ULT uses line of sight, not pure range.
    • Her ULT destroys both physical shields (like Reinhardt's shield, Winston's shield, etc.), but ALSO destroys shields in the health bar, such as Lucio's ULT (it's a direct counter to it), or other health bar shields (this would really hurt Zenyatta or Zarya, as the majority of their health is made up of shields).

    Cooldowns
    • Teleport (E ability): 6 seconds
    • Hack (right click ability): 12 seconds
    • Invisibility (shift ability): 6 seconds

    Some other useful tips:
    • Sombra's clip feels like Tracer's but it's not! It last a lot longer than expected, so make sure to use the whole thing (don't just spray a little bit and reload).
    • One useful thing to do as Sombra is sneak into the back lines, place your teleporter on a health pack, try to get as many kills as you can during the 15 second teleporter uptime, then teleport back to the health as soon as you are in critical danger. Doing this can safely secure 1, 2 or even more kills without really risking death.

    Wouldn't Soldier get the rocket slide? Crouch while sprinting! Then give him the blind fire wall cover mechanics.

    Oh also it's easy to assume that Sombra would be a turret killer, but turrets have more range than her hack does and always hit, so she has to have it shooting at something else (or get bubbled) before she can even get a hack off on a turret, otherwise it'll just keep interrupting her. And that still doesn't do anything about the Torb himself. Plus Torb provides armor, which counts for a lot against an SMG. Though the EMP is a nice anti-turret nuke, especially if you can hit it before Torb is able to molten core.

    Bastion is similar, she's awesome at being able to get a flank on him, but turret mode bastion doesn't care about getting hacked really and is mostly armor, so if you don't get a really good headshot against Bastion's core he's gonna swiss cheese Sombra for the trouble.

    She's absolutely a turret killer.

    True, but she has a better chance of reaching a turret that is otherwise too well-placed for Tracer or Reaper to easily reached. I'd put her around par with Pharah or Genji in terms of taking out turrets.

    Of course, one then has to worry about Torbs going full-on paranoid TF2 Engineer and periodically shot gunning the area around their turrets, just in case.

    There's no way some of those abilities aren't getting nerfed in record time. The LOS for her Ult. is good, but I think it should be less hack time than normal (you ARE hacking everyone).

    Also I'm guessing she's offense?
