    Bery killed a whale, though.

Lies! I saved that whale's life. Multiple times!

In unrelated gaming news, the third Walking Dead game comes out in less than a month (and is available for purchase)!

I received a message from a mysterious source. Well, from @HiT BiT, so not actually that mysterious.
    It was a game code.
Let's get Dangerous. Golf, that is.

(Because the code was for Dangerous Golf)
    Thank you!

I'm going to be waiting on the entire third season of TWD to be out and final impression reviews to be available.

Because the second season burned me hard.

Finally back from vacation and can play real video games again. Can I talk more about how Dishonored 2 is amazing? Because I feel like that hasn't been said enough yet. Nothing that hasn't been in a trailer, but spoiling just in case you're not in the mood for a grown-ass man squeeing over design:
Jesus god almighty the clockwork mansion is just... nnngh, it is just architectural porn. Everything that was in the trailer is represented in game, right down to entire rooms that change shape with the push of a button. Also, shooting a clockwork soldier's head off so it randomly slashes at anything that moves is hilarious. It actually emits a nonlethal electrical charge when it dies, meaning it has an even chance of sparing people that manage to kill it.

Then you start unlocking the really fun powers, like Domino, and you link people to other people to take out a bunch at once, or get someone that's about to shoot someone else so they both die. Then Emily's far reach power can just yoink people so they go flying, and you get darts that make people freak out, or you hack a robot guard tower so it just blasts people and it makes noise so people keep coming and it keeps blasting them. I haven't even gotten to Corvo's moveset yet, I'm damn curious how that's been updated.

Then you come across great environmental storytelling, like a bar that's been smashed up with a note about protection money, or police interrogating a guy complaining about automated workers who gets the interrogator to second-guess whether he'll be replaced by a robot at some point. There's labor politics, there's environmental concerns over the supply of whale oil, there's a revolt against the Empire over goddamn farm policies, there's the contrast between late 19th and early 20th century infrastructure and culture... this stuff is just catnip to me.

And then there's a level where you gotta pick one side or the other to help, and you can fuck up both sides and do a thing, or completely ignore them and solve the central puzzle, and there's dust storms that change up how sneaking works, and there are neutral areas where people don't give you shit, and then there's a level where you lose your magic but you get something ten times cooler and GOD FUCK THIS GAME HAS THE BEST FUCKING LEVEL DESIGN JUST SHOOT IT IN MY VEINS

This is just Cool Stuff Everywhere: The Game. Buy this game. Now. Right now. Right this instant you fucks.

kstolls on Twitch, streaming weekends at 9pm CST!
Now playing: Teardown and Baldur's Gate 3 (co-op)

I wish she could kill the whales in AVWW for me.

Having achievements unlock new spells is quite satisfying.

Pardon the delay to accept, @Zavian , but never doubt that I rather appreciate your recent gift of Roll'd!

    jpnvxdfrkkrd.jpg

ALMOST as nifty as the game itself, is that Gmail picked up your RickRoll link and attached the youtube video right in the email from Steam!

In Stardew Valley I am FINALLY nearing the end of winter and I FINALLY feel like the game is opening up to me. It's incredibly difficult to make money on your farm to afford the, what seem, insane initial prices for upgrades while mining and fishing and foraging and the like. I feel like it's taken 3 seasons, but finally I have the critical tools upgraded to clear my land of the big stuff, a cache of goods for quests (seriously, I have about 20 chests, sheesh), and I'm finally, FINALLY building farm buildings because I feel like I have the necessary resources. I took up so little of my land these first few seasons that I already have some mushroom trees I'm going to cultivate. The game is AWFUL about telling you things ahead of time, but with some judicious wiki reading and minimal planning, things are starting to finally get really rolling. I am really interesting in seeing how I can fill out the rest of my farm with sprinklers once I can reliably farm gold ore because just using your watering can is def right out.

Plus I have several community center bundles to work through and collections to complete. All in all, I do enjoy the game. I just wish everything was a LEETLE closer together but luckily it never makes me run back and forth more than once per day.

Does anyone know if the boxed copy of XCOM 2 comes with a Steam code? The Amazon page lists a Steam authentication as a requirement, so I'm guessing so, but need to know for sure before I order it.

Edit: Nevermind, coupon code I have doesn't work on it. XCOM 2 for $10 would have been nice.

Doesn't matter where you buy XCOM 2, it'll be Steam.

The game is indeed amazing, but you missed an important detail in your description
Combining Domino and Far Reach yoinking.

a little PSA for anyone that finally picked up Borderlands 2 in the last sale, like I did. Here's a list of all the Shift codes you can enter. If you enter all of the codes you'll get a new head and 2 skins for each character, and 263 Golden Keys.

    Yes, 263 Golden Keys.

If you just played a Dark Souls game on PC the frame rate will annoy the hell out of you, but if you just played a typical "OK frame rate" normal console game it's fine.

Yes. He has done unto me as well.

It is apparently a top-down arena shooter where you cut bullets to a metal soundtrack.

Thank you, Zavian, for this metal thing.

Grow Up is the best kind of more-is-better sequel that I can recall playing. I don't have the time right this moment to exthol its virtues, just know that it's fucking excellent and well worth the meager asking price. Thanks again @Scratchy for the great gift!

Update on Stardew Valley. I was complaining that the game dosent tell you how to do things and last night I started finding the lost library books, which tell you how to do things. They are short tips instead of tutorials but now that I know what im looking for going forward should be smoother sailing.

263 keys is just about enough to maybe get something decent-ish, too.

I've got what seems to be the base set of achievements down in Mini Metro. These special ones are going to be a lot harder. Such a great little puzzle game, and I adore the subway map aesthetic.
