I guarantee you that three of the type of people people who go around Twitter looking for things to be annoyed about said "that's not funny" and some marketing gonk made them pull it.

I think the only part I actually find offensive is they decided to go with that lopsided shitty excuse for a cinnamon bun

I mean I know they deal exclusively in shitty excuses for cinnamon buns and all but they should have just done the entire thing in cinnamon

As a young boy, I'm not ashamed to admit that I had more than a bit of a crush on Carrie Fisher. Looking back, I can honestly say that she was the first woman I was attracted to based not on purely physical attributes, but rather the self-confident and assertive qualities she displayed portraying Princess Leia. To lose such a childhood crush has really made me feel the weight of my age today, more so than usual.

Farewell and rest peacefully Miss Fisher. If the old adage that you never forget your first love holds true, then I suspect I shall carry your memory with me for as long as I am capable.

wonder what they're gonna do for Episode IX. Kinda hope they don't wheel out a cartoon Carrie for her reunion with Luke.

No, you don't do something like that for a passing that recent.

Yeah there is a 0% chance they use a CGI Carrie Fisher that would be insanely ghoulish

Chances are General Organa died valiantly defending innocent folks from the First Order

They CGI'd Paul Walker to finish Fast 7 and most people seemed pretty okay with that.
They CGI'd him in one scene that was explicitly designed as a tribute to him while using his brother as the actual physical actor in the scene

    like

it was about as respectful of a job as could be done and was not at all comparable to using a CGI Carrie Fisher for Star Wars scenes she hadn't filmed

That was CGI? I though that was a scene Paul Walker made before he died.

Her daughter Billie Lourd, who is an actress herself, has a role in The Force Awakens if that helps.

The very last scene he's in, where you see him pull up in the car, is the one where he was CGI. They used his brother as the actor for the scene and then put the CGI on top of him to make him look like Paul.

I have a podcast about Digimon called the Digital Moncast, on Audio Entropy.

Carrie Fisher was my first BAE.

    Sad sad sad news.

It's tragic and my heart goes out to her family and friends...

Can't help but wonder how this will affect the series moving forward. Were they done filming all of episode viii? What can they do with the character for episode ix?

Wish they could send Leia's character off in an epic space battle.

Would that make him a male Zsa-Zsa?

On a sadder note, yet another Skywalker has gone to become one with the force, leaving only Ben Solo/Kylo and Luke to carry on.

2016 has been like having a red-hot poker shoved up the ass of everything I've loved since I was like 6 years old. Fuck this year.

I was never a Star Wars fan but Carrie Fisher always impressed the hell out of me for calling out people that would mock older ladies in showbiz as well as firing back at tired menopause jokes.

    She was awesome.

Episode VIII finished filming back in July. My guess is that they modify the film to remove Leia from Episode IX, either by killing her or rearranging a scene where she leaves alone into a "Going off into the sunset" scene.

I feel like if you are in your 90s and you die I'll miss you but shit man you had to go eventually.

But if you go and you make me feel like I'm middle aged or even past that point at 36, then you've been stolen from us.

And that's just not cool mang.

It was the lifestyle she chose to live in her younger years.

Drug and alcohol abuse is really no joke.

While accurate that drug and alcohol abuse is no joke, sometimes people just die. My mother died this year from cancer at 62. She exercised and ate healthy every day for her entire life until she was physically unable to. She was a Spinning instructor for over 10 years for god's sake. You can't attribute lifestyle to this.

Word. Of course it's natural to look for something to blame, but sometimes it just happens. You can do everything 'right' and die in your fifties; my grandfather whose primary diet in WWII consisted mainly of cigarettes and Spam made it to 95.

"Sometimes people just die" is super hard to accept, even with the perspective that age lends you.

Fuck. I hadn't heard that. What an awful time for the family.

My beloved Granddad died just before Christmas over ten years ago and I can safely say it's infused every Christmas with a shot of sorrow since.

That reminded me of the scene from Rock Star where Jason Bonham is getting a transfusion backstage.
