I think with any advertising, the moment you give it a personal endorsement, ie you say you've used it and think it's good, a line has been crossed.
Now if that endorsement is true, fine. But if it's not? At that point you're just lying to people because somebody paid you too. You don't have to lie to advertise anything, so fuck you if you do.
My Giant Bomb videos are surrounded by an enormous amount of positivity
My Undertale video, on the other hand
I'm pretty sure there are people out there who just search for things that they think are "social justicey" just to shit on them regardless of quality or content, and undertale unfortunately is one of those things.
The money zone has gotten a bit bloated, but the only time I really had a problem with it was when they were advertising that quick loan company. That was not great

Oh it's not a great video, despite it being by far my most popular one
But most of the bickering I've seen in the comments come from people who are clearly Undertale and Homestuck fans
Much as I love both of those things, I totally get how anyone could be turned off by the fanbase

I can't make any decisions for Chincy (and I would imagine any decisions like this would be made by the team as a whole anyway), but my preference would be that we ONLY advertise terrible products and that we be entirely upfront about how terrible they are.
I've been thinking about doing blue apron because I basically don't cook at all and I'd like to get better at it, and having exactly what I need sent to me would help with that.
The problem is it's portioned and priced for 2, and I'm worried that it'll end up a waste of my money because I'll get too much food that ends up going to waste if I don't like a recipe or screw one up.
Anyone have any experience with it?
I've been doing it
It's 3 meals for 2, which means if you are just cooking for one, you'll end up eating leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day, which is fine for me (for reference though, they are 500-700 calorie meals). You can see ahead of time what the dishes are going to be, so you can skip a delivery or swap out one of the meals for one of the veggie alternates, if you think you won't like them. I've had a few minor screw ups, which haven't ruined the dish.
I do some cooking already though, and I find $60 a week a little more expensive than I'd like, so I've started only getting 1 or 2 shipments per month, selecting ones with dishes I would especially like or are unusual enough where I wouldn't otherwise try to make.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
I'd listen to the money zone if it was shorter. Sometimes I listen to Bomb/Beastcast ads if I can't be bothered to get my phone out and jump forward a minute or whatever. The money zone is 8-10 minutes though, and half of it is always the same products.
Honestly I skip the Money Zone most of the time because it's the same products every week. I can only hear patter about MeUndies and Blue Apron so many times. There's rarely enough #content in those bits anymore. At least when Travis tries to make up terrible slogans for the products or something there's some entertainment there.
The one ad where it seemed abundantly clear Jeff hated the thing he was advertising was that Ralphie May one.
The one thing I remember about Ralphie May at this point is that he threw a temper tantrum on Twitter over Chelsea Peretti naming her Netflix special "One of the the Greats"

I was getting the two-serving plan and was definitely eating both servings myself almost every time
Question 2 - should I start a line of terrible products just to get TWA to endorse them?

Please tell me who the Magician is, it's bugging me because all my guesses seem wrong.
(Apparently it's Avi? which I did not get at all)
Also where's Jeff Angel

Well, it makes sense that you can see him.
It did seem, to me, that Brett showed up whenever Jeff wasn't particularly fond of the company being advertised.
The one thing I remember about Ralphie May at this point is that he threw a temper tantrum on Twitter over Chelsea Peretti naming her Netflix special "One of the the Greats"
And then I backed up
And skipped it again
Hahahaha boom roasted
Now I don't even know if I want to listen to this last best-of and get disappointed.

Not a podcast, but I love Sam Riegel's bits advertising, for Critical Role
Yikes on bikes
FINALLY a full-length MaxFun podcast.
Last night I purchased a mixed drink called the Victoria's secret and then played vr games and then oops toilet prayers
I would have 100% advised against both of these things.
(I hope you are feeling better today)
