So hey you remember when Lin ran a prizeo campaign for a chance at Hamilton tickets in exchange for your donation?

What if you could do the same thing again, but win tickets to ALL the Hamilton shows across America?

    That's true too.

This has actually made me realize I'm not directly donating to Planned Parenthood but the advocacy fund and I wonder if I should switch.

okay! now that I'm back in town (after we had a very dumb hunt for a deep dish pizza place in a snow storm followed by a like, 180 mile drive that was also mostly in that snow storm), here are some actual thoughts:

The Chicago cast was very good, for the most part. If I had to name a weak link in the main cast, it would be Eliza, but her only real struggle seemed to be during act one (she definitely struggled with Helpless and she didn't bring a ton to That Would Be Enough). She really brought it starting with Non-Stop though, I think maybe she just needed to have that frustrated edge to things to really sell it? I dunno. The guy who played Seabury wasn't...really great either, like, he didn't have any presence at all?

There was definitely an adjustment period from listening to the album, but seeing it actually performed really brings home how artfully it's constructed. You appreciate the transitional songs and brief gags a lot more in person, because it's not just you sitting there, sniffling, it's hundreds of people and they're tense and sad, and then James Madison comes out and he's clearly sobbing and it breaks all that tension and you can move on. And the choreography is...super neat? I don't know, I'm not especially qualified to comment on it, but it adds a hell of a lot to the show.

I feel like the songs that really hit were The Room Where It Happens, One Last Time and Yorktown. Satisfied was also dope. My mom liked King George the most (he was definitely great but like...if I was going to guess which character my mom would like the most, it would definitely have been King George), btw

the t-shirt I got was rad and they had souvenir cups and the souvenir cups had like...sippy cup lids because they didn't want you to spill over their nice floors like a bunch of idiot babies and it's a good thing because I definitely kicked mine over at least twice

also the room where it happens is the best song in hamilton still, thank you

Finally listening to the mixtape. I'm not really sold on the covers so far, but apparently even the cover of "Dear Theodosia" can make me tear up.

    EDIT: Oh my god "Congratulations"

I'm floored. It's everything I wanted it to be, it's a shame they cut it.

We got Hamilton tickets for Christmas! Going to be seeing it in Chicago on my fiancee's birthday. I'm excited and she's over the moon about it.

And for once her disability worked out to our advantage as we got handicapped orchestra seats for less than half the price of standard tickets.

Got this for my dad and stepmom last Christmas and apparently they forgot about it until they were coming over this week.

They were blown away! And the funny part was last summer they drove across the country and back without ever breaking it out.

So I guess my wife got ten tickets for this on case we found other people who wanted to go and now they're selling online for like three times what we paid.

the only thing I can think of is taking seven shots of tequila and calling it the "What Comes Next?"

    thread, you have the floor

    My Shot: pretty self explanatory

The Hercules Mulligan: Ouzo and Irish Whiskey
The Aaron Burr: a glass of lukewarm water

There's a part of me that's like "oh god I must see that" and then another part is like "but you're already a famous actor. Let somebody else have a shot."

but still, I'd like to listen to him sing the part.

He does a lot of singing as the voice of Clover the rabbit on Disney Junior's Sofia the First. Dude's got some chops.

I had a bunch of stipulations which made it harder I guess. Had to not be around the Christmas/new year period, and had to be on a Saturday.
