Yeah i'm not sure why I like World of Final Fantasy while I didn't like 13-2. Maybe it's that it doesn't have that connection to my favorite-playing game in the series, and also that it feels like its own thing where the entire party (pretty much) is customizable and interacts in different ways instead of just having a rotating third party slot.

It's super dumb and I love it. Why do you put a monster on your head and then another smaller monster on that one's head to fight? They never bother to even try to explain so WHO CARES LETS DO THIS.

Because it wouldn't work in reverse

The localization on the mascot is an actual crime

The people that did that should be in jail

You can also turn the characters into tiny versions of themselves and have them ride on a large monster's head while a small monster rides on their head.

i got dragonball fusions over my vacation and this game is a Really Good Piece of fanservice, even down to the mechanics, and a decent game on top of that

real good at conveying the feel of the property

i have a couple issues with it but it's pretty solid!

    Yea.

Honestly if the monsters weren't stacked up, didn't start at level 1 every fucking time and Lann was dead I'd probably quite enjoy that game.

Not really. It's basically just an article like is/are/be/etc. that fills the verb spot in a sentence when there's not an implied action besides, well, existing I guess.

The way leveling works in that game it makes sense they start at level 1. Leveling them up past that is just as simple as sticking them in the back non-combat portion of my party. The point I'm at with the brother and sister at level 30 I do one battle and that new monster in the back goes from 1 to 9. Then from 9 to 14 after the next fight. At that point they can unlock enough nodes to be actually viable in my stack if I want their abilities for something.

Though in defense of XIII-2 I will say Serah and Noel had a pretty nice buddy cop dynamic going on and adding a third maybe would have diluted that.

it's supposed to be a copula, but it's not really used like that though, and translates even more awkward than adding "the" like they did
desu is used as almost punctuation to denote the character is cute

So I finally got around to playing the Nier demo and yeah sold.

The gameplay is Platinum but its obviously been simplified a bit for folks who might not be used to playing their games. Also the bullet hell parts were pretty fun. Like if you took that level from Bayonetta and made it fun instead of tedious.

Also I'm not sure if the game had a homing attack would have liked one.

And I'll probably play on hard since I didn't use lock-on during the demo anyway.

I'm in the same boat, just got around to playing the Nier Automata demo, and it went from I'm interested to I'm definitely buying this, maybe not day 1 but when I need a game to play.

Gameplay seems fun, the aesthetic is cool. I really liked the different perspectives it throws at you in the demo with the bullet hell and top down view and stuff.

I'm playing through it right now with a buddy and our main complaint is the mirages starting at level 1 no matter when/where you catch them

it makes getting new guys up to speed a massive chore to the point where we just stopped bothering after a certain point

I'm obviously biased because for whatever reason FF13 is my second favorite Final Fantasy, and my first favorite-playing Final Fantasy. I love the gameplay so much in that game, it was a complete joy for me. I even did all the dumb high level grindy optional garbage that I never do in the other games, just because it meant more time experiencing that battle system.

I gave up on 13-2 after a few hours. Never bothered with 13-3.

Fang isn't in either of them so what's the point engaging with new mechanics I hate?

I assume my issues with the battle camera probably won't ever improve?

It can be pretty tough following everything in a 5 or 6 person battle. I suppose it could help if I tone down the battle speed, but that's not my preferred solution.

Haha, oh man. Atlus is localizing underwater ray romano 2 and its sequel. Glad they're doing both of the Utawarerumono games, dealing with the ending of Mask of Deception and having no guarantee of a continuation would be... Fun.

Kinda curious how they'll deal with the names and stuff though, with Ainu vs Japanese romanization. Urutorii/Urtoriy, Karurauaturei/Karurawaturei, etc.

You know I think its pretty smart that jRPG devs started doing cross releases between the PS4/Vita. Cause I was never gonna buy a Vita.

Fate/Stay/Night had infamously bad sex scenes in the first version as a marketing thing. Later versions removed them.

The only thing I'm sad about the updated versions of /stay night is that they severely tone down how much a miserable evil human begin and piece of shit Shinji is. He's the lowest of the low in the origional.

When I was playing /stay night, specifically Heaven's Feel, for the first time I hated Zouken Matou, and by extension Shinji Matou, more than I had hated any other villains in fiction in any medium.

Fuuuuuck I just beat Chapter 73 in Granblue and now I'm past literally every person I know who plays it so I can't talk about the cool-ass story beats that happen immediately following the boss fight to anyone and it's going to kill me.

Hey FFXIV buckaroos, I've discovered my ilvl is too low to do the new dungeon. What's the best route for getting new gear? I'm currently wearing VA stuff with a few pieces from Mhach thrown in.

I assume you're level 60 if you're doing the Void Ark/Lost City raids.

The easiest way (that relies the least on RNG) is to do the various daily roulettes that will give you Lore tomestomes (and a small amount of Scripture tomestones). Lore can be traded in for 230 gear, and Scripture can be traded in for 260 gear.

Just run Alexander Creator raids. I believe the 1/week cap has been removed so multiple runs should get you to 250 pretty fast (this is more true if you are a tank or can queue with one).
