Hi, I woke up at 6:30 AM on my day off today because a recruit was going to announce his commitment this morning and we needed to cover it.

How's the offseason going for everyone else?

We have 14 recruits and hired a motherfucker named coach Horny.

    I wish I was joking.

Horny is also a Baylor guy that defended Bridles. Good thing he's ironically just the special teams quality assurance guy.

Nice try, but it's going to be a long time before any of you can match Jake Butt, Tight End.

Meh, pretty quiet right now in Irish country. Classes started yesterday and the early HS grads are here for the Spring, some commits and de-commits, assistant coaching new hires and shuffling of duties, etc.

Basically most everyone has accepted that last year was Kelly's one bad year he is allowed and are moving on to Spring football.

Still bummed out from last season but the Men's Basketball team is playing phenomenally right now so that's dulls the pain a bit.

People keep poaching Harbaugh's assistants because they've noticed their track record. It's obnoxious.

As far as Baylor goes, that's positively benign. If we legalized it to get the worst abuses out of the system, it would be actually benign.

Aren't they really screwed if they don't? Like, that's the point of a show cause - that coach functionally doesn't get to work in the NCAA.

Actually, not really! All a show-cause really means is that the school employing the person with said show-cause has to file a bunch of paperwork and prove that they're monitoring that coach and that the incidents that led to the show-cause won't occur again.

Notre Dame released tax info indicating they paid the final 2 mil in buyout money back in late '15 for Charlie Weis.

    Grand total? 18.9 million.

That was just a fabulous hire.

I wouldn't mind if they paid me 18.9 million, I could probably accomplish the same he did for it too.

For the record, I think you could have just kept Weis around if you were going to go 4-8 anyway.

They signed Riley to a pretty sizable extension a month ago, so it seems like there were probably internal discussions where they knew Stoops was leaving soon. To do it precisely now is a bit weird.

I just can't figure out....why he would do it now. Not at the end of a season, but in the middle of the offseason? I mean, the guy is what? 56? He's not that old at all!

Or maybe after this most recent season, he realized nothing he could do to Texas could top what Kansas did and decided to pack it up.

man, that Kansas game day was just a fucking thing for me

I was in College Station visiting my girlfriend, and ended up spending the whole day with my best friend and his roommates. We do some grilling and what not to post-celebrate Thanksgiving and the horrid loss to LSU and everyone's talking and grilling and drinking while I sit on the couch, slumped, for the entire. game.

I just knew from the beginning that it was a trap game and would refuse to be happy at any point in the game. Everyone mocked me a bit for it while I'm sitting there, staring at my own abyss.

And then we get to the end.

And everyone is sitting on the couches watching. Quietly. No one said anything after the game ended until I just go "told ya. trap game" and then started getting happy talking about coaching rumors (cause this was the big time when Herman to LSU was going on and aggies were talking up firing Sumlin.

Yeah I'm gonna remember that game for a long time.
