I like to think that's just how that sheep sleeps.

Stiff as a board. All four legs in the air. Every night. Doesn't know what all the fuss is about.

Good grief. Those Canadian PSA's, the adorable animal videos, the "this person is fine but is doing something exceedingly dangerous", back to the animal videos...

This thread is quite the rollercoaster.

And scorpions! However, I've never had an arachnid the size of a large dog lunge out of the darkness and devour the animal I was observing, so I think I'm still in good shape here.

Wolf spiders are still terrifying even if they're only tarantula sized, especially if they're carrying their babies.

Doubly so if you kill them on a tile floor.

do sheep have a play-dead reflex when they are on their backs?

A comment I saw said that because of the huge wool coats that domesticated sheep have, if they fall over - or just try to roll around in the dirt to scratch themselves - near when they're ready to get sheared the wool gets flattened out and then they get stuck on the ground.

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
