also i never read the comics, so it's not gonna make me mad when it inevitably diverges.

I should be into this. Great cast, amazing special effects, space opera, Luc Besson etc but the trailer just feels cold and empty to me.

My favourite wild west -ish comic was one with a sergeant and corporal in the Union army who get into adventures. Can't remember the name.

There is a sci-fi fantasy viking comic called Thorgal which is godlike, that's one of my favourite ever comics.

My favorite franco-belgian comic is probably still Spirou.

It's about this young adult who was, at first, a hotel elevator attendant but then was reworked as a reporter, who'd go on crazy adventures with his pal, Fantasio (who, I believe, was a secondary character from a gag comic by another artist).

There were so many cool adventures: Time travel, New York mafia stories, a killer fembot, exploring a lost world in the Amazon, fighting against a weird superscientist dictator....

i loved it and I still do, even if it was a bit childish.

i never read those, sadly, but i hear they were pretty good.

    OH MAN!

i just remembered a series of really old french comics.

    Philemon.

It was about this guy who would go on the islands that spell out "Atlantic Ocean", where crazy shit happened.

I first learned of that comic when i was watching The Simpsons and Bart goes "Even in Rand McNally?" and Lisa is like "Yes, but there, they wear shoes on their hands and hamburgers eat people".

My dad saw that and was like "That's actually a comic!"

Horizon: Zero Dawn is fun but so far I am struggling to see how it's getting all these amazing/perfect reviews.

It's by no means bad and the world is pretty and well characterized and intriguing, but the gameplay itself seems pretty standard open-world stuff and there are some obvious annoyances in the game (inconsistent painting of ledge climbing paths and being unable to do new weapon challenges without selecting them are the worst so far).
