I like the lawn chair balloon episode because it's not about sports because sports is boring.
sports are boring but Pretty Good is not boring because it has all the stuff in sports that isn't boring (the stories) without any of the stuff that is (the actual sports)

Pretty Good is fantastic, but the effectively looping commentary at the start of the most recent one was maddening

It really is the stupidest sporting event of all time
That's a personal favorite.
The 24 one and the Poker one are great too. But the best might just be the one about John Heisman, Revenge, and scoring 222 points in a regulation college football game:

What is the difference between Restricted Mode and browsing YouTube anonymously?

If you're not signed in to youtube then restricted videos are restricted. So what is the difference?
It's designed to catch videos that get through the cracks and are not appropriate for minor. Unfortunately they put almost every LGBT word in the list of things to block
Ah, but it is not blocked when you're not signed in. Got it.

What is the difference between Restricted Mode and browsing YouTube anonymously?
Basically everything, Restricted Mode is not an anonymous mode in any way and I don't know why you assumed it is.
I didn't. I wanted to know the differences between using YouTube how I normally use it (not logging in and on my iPad or console) and this mode I had never heard of. I certainly didn't expect a rude, terse reply.

So the people who decide on what's appropriate for minors are the greater YouTube community?

So I keep reading people saying that restricted mode isn't widely used.
but uh it's the primary way of filtering content for K-12 schools
Previously there was youtube for schools but they got rid of that in favour of this.
YouTube is not the only company that does this either, all three of the webfilters I have worked with exclude certain LGBQT heavy categories of websites from their "CIPA compliance" recommendations.
fortunately for the local school district I was the only one in charge of reviewing those broad categories and assigning viewing rights to them so kids have access to them
unfortunately youtube does not give you anything more than a few preset options and they're all bad
so yeah this is a major problem and its major effect is denying vulnerable kids in need resources that could really help them out.

his use of Lorde's "Team" in the Lonnie Smith episode was a real standout for me
Oh my GOD, I know! When I saw that I was like "what in the FUCK?!?..." shit was god-damn CRAZY.
And it's even the weakest episode, IMO.

the episode on 24 is chilling in light of the current political climate.

Restricted Mode is meant to hide videos that might be considered "prurient".

this video, for example, is blocked in restricted mode

It hides those videos when you browse anonymously and forces you to log in to an account that has an adult content flag checked.
