Yay Thor! This was a most unexpected outcome from my point of view. But really, anyone in that last round could have won.

    Nice.

I'm pretty pumped that Mimic actually got some votes. I shoulda voted for Madrox instead. But still, I'm glad the dude I did vote for had some representation.

If they had decided to fight just Thor without worrying about each other. I'd think they just took out Shade then a big menage-est-troi of hurt between the 3 remaining.

I voted for Impulse, Disqualification by ADD is the best way anyone went out.

Except for maybe Blue Beetle and Arsenals' deadly face hug.
Also, with the speed force and all that(Which I will admit is kinda retarted) he could have held his own if he ran full tilt in the final round.

Incidentally, the last cross-company battle royale I followed (in Wizard Magazine, I think) ended with Thor winning as well. That was decided by reader votes.

Are there really so many Thor lovers? I mean, I don't believe his ongoing series has ever been all that popular. If it was, it wouldn't always be going on hiatus.

This was AoA Magneto, so 616 Magneto still totally gets in.

I was surprised Thor won too. I'm glad it wasn't Superman, but I wouldn't have bet on Thor. Also, my MVP was Mimic. The stronger his opponents got, the stronger he would've gotten.

I didn't vote, because I would have been happy with pretty much any outcome, except Wonder Woman because she's kind of a tool.

But yeah, chances were Thor wouldn't get beaten by Superman twice in a row, and certainly not three times overall.

The order of who I'd have liked to win goes

    Shade
    Wonder Woman
    Superman
    Thor

I just think Shade has a powerset that's ideal for super-strong brawlers (but maybe not psychics, Doctor Strange, the Vision). Wonder Woman would've been a nice, unexpected victory too. She doesn't get enough credit, nor do female characters as a whole.

Superman would've at least felt appropriate, if cliched.

As for Thor, though, I just don't like him. From all I've ever read of him in Avengers, he's just come off as a one-dimensional character who's only there to beat people up or, in order to emphasize how powerful a villain is, get beaten up.

I like the idea of a god posing as a man, though, or a man with a god inside of him, so maybe his solo issues are interesting. If his return is followed by a solo series that revives the Donald Blake secret identity, I'll check it out.

I started reading Avengers after Dissassembled, so I haven't actually read a lot of Thor...I've read Ultimates, and a few Thor issues here and there, but it's hard to say why I like him.

I think the cool thing about him is that he's sort of above all the political stuff that the Avengers and X-Men have to put up with, but instead of being above and seperate, or alone, like Superman is, he still has his world of friends and family to go back to. Or he used to, anyways. I just like his perspective on heroics.

I love Ultimate Thor because he's the kind of hero who doesn't think being able to lift a building means that he's no longer obligated to do good in areas of life beyond annihilating criminals, nor does he even seem to think that defending the Earth from super-villains is the most important thing in the world.

Normal Thor just seems to like to yell a lot and be arrogant. Whereas Ult Thor thinks he shouldn't be subject to the whims of the US government because they're corrupt, 616 Thor just thinks he shouldn't have to because he's a god and nobody tells Thor what to do. It's just arrogance.

Doom should be considered for exclusion, though maybe he won't be overpowered if we limit him to his standard equipment sans deus ex machina devices such as the thing that outright negated Magneto's abilities. It's not a take over the world contest, and it's not inconceivable that Doom isn't the best straight-out fighter in all universes.

We could also replace with Ultimate Doom.

I'd probably add both versions of Galactus and normal Darkseid. This new Dark Side from Seven Soldiers though... that might work.
