PS3 stopped connecting to my wifi

A few days ago, my PS3 stopped signing into my wifi for some reason.

I looked and the last system update for the PS3 came out last November, so it's not that.

I've re-checked all the settings and they should be correct, but it won't even obtain an IP address. Same router as before, too.

I've looked over Sony's official support website and their advice is the usual extremely basic and vague advice that most official support sites have. Obviously, none of it resolved the issue.

Have you set a static ip for the ps3 in the router? Had to do that to make my 360 work when it stopped getting assigned dynamically, maybe it would help you here?

Could it be that other WIFI gear is causing interference. I don't know if you live in a place where other peoples WIFI may be in range, but if so that might be a culprit.
I live in an apartment building and there are 20+ hot spots within detection range and I have found my self having to change channel on my router once in a while, since I guess me and the neighbors are sort fighting to be on a channel with less traffic. When I need to change the symptom is usually not that my gear can not "see" the router, but that it can not connect or get a working communication going.

    Bones heal, glory is forever.

I had the same thing happen three or so years ago to my MGS4 edition PS3. I was never able to resolve it. Tried different routers, hardwiring into the router, static IP, resetting firmware, manually updating firmware, etc. The only thing I didn't try was physically replacing the wifi card (which was the only option remaining short of a full reformat, and even that didn't seem promising).

My PS3 fat was a dick about wifi for a while. Replacing the wifi board solved that right quick, and was actually fairly easy to do.

It's working again without me actually changing anything, I think the problem was probably extra wifi interference.
