Let's not dither about in the east before securing the west
Status- Atlantic Wall- Each time an Axis army is battled in Western Europe, the country initiating the battle must discard the top 3 cards of its draw deck.
Discard, draw 2
+2 VP
Question, are discards from the deck known to the player who has to discard? Or are they completely blind
The books says unplayed discards can be sent to the bottom of your discard pile to keep them secret from other players, so I assume you can look at all of your own discards.

Yeah it's a bit of a kick in the teeth, starting losing 4 points per turn, but maybe Axis is too good in the base game. And I suppose it's thematic too
Anyway, go go Italy!

Event- Military Dictatorships in the Balkans- Recruit an Italian Army in the Balkans and eliminate an Allies army in Ukraine.

The thing about French/Chinese units is that the expansion replaced a bunch of base game cards. Previously, UK and USA got cards that allowed them to build their own armies in Western Europe and Asia. They were kind of overpowered so they replaced them with the Chinese and French, which look ridiculous at first glance until you realize that only special cards allow those units to be built or attack, so they're not terribly good units.
Every expansion game I've played had the Allies pull ahead in the very beginning, then even out towards mid game.

I think that with the us playing east sealion just became that much harder. Securing the med is the natural play here IMO
