To pass the time a bit, what's your crazy PAX ticket story? For example, where you somewhere far away but still managed to get tickets?
Was driving through the middle of nowhere central California in 2014 when my phone buzzed and I had my fiancee check it. She told me that pax tickets went on sale and I thought it was a joke until she showed me the screen. I booked it to the nearest exit and had to use a Mc Donalds wifi with my laptop. Didn't get the tickets, but I came out and she told me she bought them for me on her phone.
I was just coming back from lunch with a very pregnant friend. I got the twitter notification of the tickets on sale as I stepped out of the car. My PC was in the building, and I quickly told her "I have to go! Tickets!" and started running in my dress clothes. As I run up to the door, she came waddling toward me and she yelled "I DON'T HAVE MY PASS!". Thinking quickly, I scanned in the door myself and baseball-threw my pass toward her in the parking lot. I was able to get online and order tickets in time, and she didn't end up dropping a baby in the parking lot while picking up the scan card. Overall it was a win.
...For one horrible second I thought tickets had gone on sale while I was at my dental appointment this morning (made months in advance and couldn't rebook, so I was a barrel of fun trying to get out of there ASAP)
Well I'm guessing it's not this hour then. Man, meetings all day. Hope it doesn't go on sale when I have to actually interact with people.
If the tickets do go on sale just run out of the room yelling "PAXGOTTAGOBYE"
I don't have any crazy stories (way too neurotic to risk going anywhere and not getting tickets), but last year the alert came while I was in the shower so I burst out of the shower, dashed down the hall and fell on top of my computer, F5ing so hard the neighbors probably felt it... they almost certainly heard me yelling "PAAAAAAX" like a lunatic, at any rate

Mine was in 2015. I was flying from DC to Florida for the weekend and randomly decided to got to the airport early that day.
The second I got to the airport, my phone buzzed that tickets were on sale. I queued up on my phone and laptop and managed to get tickets.
(I got in on my laptop first, Saturday was sold out so I got Fri,Sun,Mon. Then I got in on my phone, Sat was available and got that!) Then I checked in and boarded my flight. I spent the entire flight crying that if tickets had gone on sale while I was in the air, I wouldn't have gone to PAX that year

For me it was when I was on the crapper at work (Washing my hands as I just finished 'Business'), and my phone went off, I reached for my phone sitting on the sink ledge SUPER excited, and then promptly knocked it into the toilet!!!!
Needless to say it did not work, but my wife also got the text, and secured the tickets for me!
On another note, tickets went up to $48 a day this year, even Monday :?
Weren't they $45 last year? So, they've gone up $12 for the entire show. I see this as a non-issue and, honestly, PAX is still one AMAZING entertainment bargain.

Yeah, you're right. They were $45. Still, I feel like Reedpop has been trying to get everything they can since they took over...I guess it helps curb the resale market a little. Meh.
Few years ago, I'd just finished a job at a worksite and had a 45 minute drive to the next one. My phone went off with the Twitter notification just as I was walking to the car. Felt like it took forever trying to get through the queue on my crappy phone cuz between my ducking connection and the servers melting I kept timing out. Finally managed to get through and grab a full set.
If I'd finished at that first site just a couple minutes earlier I probably wouldn't have even known they were up for another hour.

Even as a blind guess I'll be very surprised if it isn't today or tomorrow; this is very late and people even in this (mostly) laid back thread are starting to get edgy - travel plans must be made. I suppose we'll know by Thursday evening if Craig actually knew what he was talking about, and either way it won't stop most of us from obsessively checking our phones and the site today, anyway.

If I remember correctly Showclix is east coast I think? So definitely not past 2pm (5pm for them, aka after working hours)
Showclix is in Pittsburg. I'd say before 5pm for the cut off time probably. It took me 28 minutes to get in and out last year and all days were still available. So you don't want them dropping too late and having Showclix stay super late.
Maybe it'll be today! They went on sale this day last year, maybe they'll just do the same day this year. Maybe.

Wait, are we actually allowed to book the PAX Dev hotels now for PAX West? A bit confused.
It looks like anyone can book the Westin at the link the dude provided. Doesn't matter if you're going to Dev or not, the dates for PAX West are available.
Yeah but the Westin is like the furthers PAX associated hotel at PAX lol. I hated trudging over to that hotel for panels.

Is the Westin further away than the Moore?
Moore is further. Google lists The Moore at 850 m and The Westin at 550 m. However, for me, The Moore is closer to the food I want than The Westin. Also, it's way cheaper. Hopefully you already have rooms at The Moore if you wanted them. They are nearly booked up (only 1-Queen Euro rooms left).
Oh yeah we already have rooms at the Moore, we booked early, though are thinking about getting the Sheraton if we can get it in, just to be close to the action. Homewood might be nice because of the free breakfast but they really screwed us over last time so my friend isn't sure about them.
