there's a bleached-blonde, super gay republican at my job and i always manage to accidentally trigger a rant from him. today it was about how people are sensitive little snowflakes who need to learn to be adults and then how feminists wanted equality until it turned out that meant they'd get drafted and feminists only claim to want equality but only want equal access to the good jobs and they don't want to serve on the front or collect garbage or work in a mine or w-e

Sounds like a broflake

Because the DPA post mentioned people using the hashtag "#sublife" and "you can guess what happened next."
What happened next was most likely people confusing the "sub" in that phrase for an abbreviation of "submissive" because the Internet is horny.
I instead made a joke about submarines because its funny to play dumb sometimes
The prevalence of boots made that an extremely realistic possibility. Because I am Facebook friends with buddies from the Army and I follow some military related pages (Terminal Lance, Army WTF etc.) I get bombarded with people who are like that unironically.

One of my favorite film sequences of all time is the montage in The Hudsucker Proxy where they go through all the steps of getting the Hula Hoop to market.

It's pretty amazing how fast the Chinese knockoff crapfactories can turn around.

Given the shipping times invloved it is pretty cool. I assume somebody saw the couple of Kickstarter raise crazy money for something with no design challenges and took a punt
The failures are probably more interesting.

I read some article once about how they started churning out those "hoverboards" incredibly fast when those got popular.
Then again, Chinese knockoff crapfactories are the ones making most of those in the first place and then the blueprints fall off the back of a van and they just keep the production line running after they're done with the official order.

There are also a lot of Kickstarters who are basically pushing stuff you can find on Aliexpress right now.

The turnaround time on refitting factories is apparently quite quick; I dunno about it being easy but they don't have labor laws over in china for a reason I presume
