You've never heard about the Kickboxer movies or Step by Step? The latter is a 90's sitcom, starring Suzanne Sommers and Patrick Duffy.
It was a dark time in tv sitcom's, we didn't know any better.
When I was elementary school age TGIF on ABC was my introduction to sitcoms. That's the only reason I know about Step by Step.
Ehhh I just don't think the timeline adds up. Sure, the modern church ain't a positive force towards gay rights, but the outline of Korean attitudes predate meaningful influence by the Catholic church in Korea. There's Buddhist sects in Korea opposing homosexuality, so it ain't just a Christian thing. And North Korea prosecutes homosexuality, and that's certainly not out of any loyalty to christian conservatism. And Korea's Christianity is rather unique in former colonized states, spread mostly through self-conversion rather than through foreign missionaries or occupation attempting to spread religion and culture.
Contributing factor, sure, but THE causative factor, no, that seems to depend on ignoring too many other cultural forces in Korea to me.

Having had sex with at least one woman who orgasmed every time and one who had trouble with it due to personal hang ups about sex, I'm curious if this statistic reflects less the physical inability of heterosexual women to reach orgasm and more negative feelings regarding sex due to upbringing or experience (in my anecdote the former was much more "liberal" about sex and the latter was brought up in a very conservative family environment regarding sex). I am apparently one of the 5% of men in that statement and I strongly think part of that is due to personal hang ups that aren't due to family life but for other personal reasons.
