It is interesting how many iconic color schemes were the result of the limited printing they could do in early comics. Good guys are red/blue bad guys are green/purple.
Also, for some reason those colors work better in print than in real life.

I initially read the comic as saying "Pride Day", and was therefore confused, as A) I was under the impression that it was an entire Pride Month, and It was last month, in June. That certainly is a very pride parade look, though.
