Sidestepping the blow from the opponent in front of him, Bragg drives his shield into the swordsmans throat with enough force to not only crush the mans trachea, but to also snap the mans spine. Dissatisfied with the the lack of resistance, Bragg also takes the chance to let off some steam by driving his sword into the second swordsmans side. "Fight me you son of a bitch!" He yells into his new opponents face.

I'm going to make the assumption that the Swordsmen were close enough that I can reach the second one from the corpse of the first, and make my Cleave! rolls.

Swordsman #1 takes 16 damage, which is significantly more than he had left, as the 19 is a crit thanks to Carve an Opening.

Cleave for a second MBA vs Swordsman #2 for 5 damage, 13 on the attack roll triggering Carve an Opening, making my crit range 20-19 again.

As the swordsman's chest cavity is splayed open by Bragg, for the briefest moment he considers all of the choices he made that lead him here. And regrets.

"Jimmydean, no!" cries out the dart throwing maniac from the hill. "You sons a bitches gonna wish you never crossed paths with Crusader mens, I tell you that right now!" He pulls more knives from the bandoliers covering his from his form, then sends them to greet Bragg. Catching Kirst momentarily distracted by the sailing edges, the remaining swordsman looks to take advantage.

One of the razors finds it's way into a exposed, tender portion of Bragg's neckline. Meanwhile, the swordsman's gambit has paid dividends, his serrated blade sawing through Kirst's armor into the most sensitive flesh of her flank.

The minor mageling and the knife-thrower try move out of the way of Mikhail's burst of flame - but only the hedge wizard is successful, and this lines them up almost perfectly for Tomas. With a quick swipe of his staff, Tomas sends a coruscating ray in their direction, but at the last second the dodging mageling blocks the worst of it from affecting the burning knife-thrower, who pats out the flames and recovers quickly enough to be annoyed when yet another blue mote begins to interfere with his weapons.

The hedge wizard, meanwhile, screams and grabs hold of his head, having caught the full brunt of Tomas's mental attack - he's going to take quite some time to put himself back together. Knowing that the hedge wizard is on-the-ropes, Tomas prepares for him to throw his all into one last, great spell to save himself. Drawing on his superior magical knowledge, Tomas is certain he'll be able to shut it down, and prepares a few runes in advance. Looking down, Tomas notices that his pant legs are covered in blood from the recently-dispatched swordsman. He pulls a green mote from the air, and sets it to cleaning his accoutrement.

Yep - Burning Hands is vs. PD.

Quick action to Mage Hand the Knife Thrower to keep his "approach and take damage" schtick from working (success!). Standard action to Cyclic-cast Color Spray (hit mageling, miss knife-thrower) for 7 damage, which weaks the Hedge Wizard until the end of my next turn. Move action to cast Mending to clean my pants; yecch.

When the Hedge Wizard attempts to cast a spell on his turn, he will lose the action to do it and the the spell will have no effect, though if it's a limited-use spell he can try again with it; I'm now out of Counter-Magic for this encounter.

    @Nullzone, you're up!

Kasben turns his attention back to the two assailants on top of the sand dune, quickly nocking an arrow and firing towards the one with the pointy bits flying about. An ocean crosswind kicks up just then, however, and the arrow misses its intended mark, grazing across the arm of the dart thrower.

@Mikey CTS just in case you hadn't caught it, I think everyone is caught up for the Hedgewizard to take its turn. Also, I think we've been forgetting to include escalation dice, unless that's more effort than you want to track.

It's also why I waited until this round to cast color spray - with the escalation die at an even number, my cyclic spells (like color spray) are at-will, so can do it twice in a row if I have to.

Sorry, been having to put in a lot of OT lately since three people quit at once. It should get better soon, though.

The hedge wizard prepares to tear another page from the book, when it appears as though his hand is struck by some unseen force. He moves to rip it out once more only to find the end result the same. He howls impotently and throws the book at his feet, stomping upon its binding.

Tomas can't help but smirk in self-satisfaction.

A sinister snears covers the remaining Crusader blade's face - his blade gashing through Kirst's leathers and deep into her flesh. The half-orc howls in pain as she clutches the wound, blood gushing from the abdomen. The initial surge of fire from his hands tapers off to a more modest flow, but he continues his torrent against the two combatants.

The Hedge Wizard distracted from his dealings with Tomas doesn't notice the stream of flames moving closer towards him as Mikhail adjusts his aim. He turns towards the onslaught with just enough time to throw his arms up defensively and scream before he is engulfed. For a moment his shrill screams can be heard over the wind and waves, but as the body falls to it's knees and collapses in a burning heap the sound cuts off harshly.

The Darth Thrower nearly meets the same fate, if not for the gust of wind that causes the fire to divert at the last moment, saving his life temporarily.

Tomas picks up one of the knives that had been thrown at him, and fingers the small cut in the sleeve of his traveling robe it made in its passing. "This is a very expensive garment, you, you ... low-rent thug. The stitching alone costs more than you'd make in a year."

Holding the knife by the tip, Tomas tosses it into the air where it turns end over end, and when he catches it it's covered in ice. With a flick of his wrist and a magical push, Tomas sends it back at its owner - who catches it with his eye and falls, twitching, to the sand. Almost as soon as the blade leaves his hand, Tomas turns his attention to his sleeve and begins to magically repair the damage.

Almost as if noticing the swordsman for the first time, Tomas calls out to him over the clash of blades without really diverting his attention from his clothes. "Your friends are all gone, and you'll join them soon, friend. I suggest you weigh your loyalties and consider surrender." Tomas then returns his full attention to fixing his sleeve.
