Ive had ideas of what Gargoyles rebooted could be but I think theres a really great concept for an hour long live action dramedy.
Gargoyles are human enough that only their wings need to be cgi. The rest can be practical effects.the older demo would allow them to explore Lex being gay and other stories they couldnt before. Maybe we could get Patrick Stweart as Macbeth too

A rebooted Gargoyles is the first place my mind went after seeing this. Doubt we'd see a live-action show, but I wouldn't want it to be live-action anyway; no way would it look as good with things like fighting the Iron Clan over the Statue of Liberty or fighting an Oberon the size of a building or seeing Goliath struggling to cope with a crazy high-tech dystopian future where he failed everybody, so all that stuff would just get cut.
I think it would be really tough to get voice actors to rival some of the originals, though. They pretty much got Star Trek actors wholesale, and got some pretty great VA work as a result. A lot of what was good about the show had to do with the ability of the voice actors to deliver.
But I could see that being in the realm of possibility, having seen the DuckTales reboot now. The only question would really be whether or not Disney wants to reboot the show, because I feel they could certainly do the original justice.

So I just, by pure dumb luck, managed to stumble on this as i was channel surfing. Talk about a weapons grade nostalgia bomb.

I watched the episode available on YouTube last night and it was hilarious. I'm glad that they don't seem to be relying solely on nostalgia to carry this.

Yeah it was certainly going after us old folks but was a solid kids cartoon as well.
As mentioned earlier, the comic book effect of the background is really well done. Makes the characters really pop out.
It's just kind of fascinating seeing Donald as a... person. This is a character who usually has villainous undertones, but they've made him damned sympathetic.
Donald was never really a villain in my mind. He was certainly an antagonist (especially for Chip and Dale), but it's not like he was ever actually evil that I can recall. Though they have moderated his temper from his earlier appearances, like I remember in one of the earliest cartoons he was in he got so mad at a phone call that he pulled the phone line through the wall, including multiple telephone polls.

That's a good point, Donald's first appearances were definitely quite different from what he has been for the last . . . 20ish years? His characterization has changed quite a bit over the years. I'm not even sure there is really one standard characterization you could give him. Still I don't recall him ever being the same sort of villain as, say, Pete.
In the shorts I've seen Donald always seems to be fighting the environment, like the stapler or a persistent flame, rather than other characters. It's more of a "fuck this bullshit" than "time to be evil".
I haven't seen that many shorts, though, so it might be different in others.

While a rebooted Disney Afternoon would be amazing, I'm actually hoping that we get a rebooted Gargoyles. With Star Wars: Rebels ending - and even with the next unknown Star Wars animated series waiting in the wings - there's plenty of room for something targeting an older demographic. Something that's more notable than the current slew of cheap Marvel cartoons, anyway.
Oh god, don't even get my hopes up for more Gargoyles. But honestly it was already a very dark and older audience geared series when it came out...I'd prefer to see a continuation (Pretending that most of the Goliath Cronicals never happened), rather than a reboot. Cause a reboot would probably end up either being less Dark or the exact same show.

He will keep you in the air/afloat until you get to exactly where you need to be going...and then you will crash.
Which is especially jarring when where you need to be and where you wanted to go aren't the same place.
