Does anyone know if Fantasy Flight plans to sell anything there or just demo? Also, I'm stoked to play Clank! In! Space! there.

While we're asking questions, does anyone know if Asmodee is going to have a room again?

    Great post! Thanks!
Is anyone else a bit disappointed in no 40K or Warmachine/Hordes this year? I know there is PAX:Unplugged in Nov, but that's in Philly.
Heck, will we even be able to play X-wing this year?

FFG/Asmodee will have a room on the 2nd floor -- no idea what they are bringing to demo, but I'm hoping some of the revealed Gen Con titles will be there to try out *crosses fingers*
BUT! FFG also has a booth on the 6th Floor. I am guessing (hoping) that they will be selling here, and not just demoing. No clue if that implies if they will have L5R copies or not. If I learn more, I'll update the OP

The lack of Privateer Press is unusual and weird to me. GW however has never had a formal presence at PAX West to my recollection.
X-Wing tournaments will be run by Cascade Games, on the 1st floor of the TCC/Annex. Lug your minis, there will be chances to play!

Hey guys! I think this is the right place to put this information :) My name is Katie, I work for Cascade Games, and I'll be managing all of the Pokemon tcg events in the Annex this year. I'll link to the schedule of events, feel free to ask me questions and to spread the word!!! I'm really excited to be bringing a good mix of event to the Pokemon fans that attend.

Also, Cascade Games is running the Tabletop Annex and will have lots of games from different publishers!

They will not. They will likely have them on display, but the new minis shown at gen-con are the very close to final ones, 3D printed for the con. Expect the new Introductory box (2 mechs) and Battletech Box (8 mechs) for sale in the next 6 months or so.

Prior to 2015, playing the hot new games from the library was one of the biggest attractions of PAX for me. Since then, though, the libraries have carried few brand new or unreleased titles. This list, for instance, lacks Photosynthesis, Wasteland Express, Whistle Stop, etc.

Does anyone know why that is? Is it logistical (e.g. the owners can't acquire new games in time to incorporate them into the library), or a conscious decision (e.g. to encourage sales)?

Logistics, time, money -- all are potential reasons. Sometimes publishers intend to provide copies to the PAX Library after Gen Con, but with that show being only two weeks prior to PAX, it's sometimes hard to coordinate.

However! There is the Hot Games room again in the Azure Room in the Olive 8 that specifically showcases Gen Con releases, and may include some of your requested titles. This room is operated by individuals who help run the Sasquatch Board Game Festival, and they will be providing some of their personal copies of games specifically to demo the latest titles from Gen Con, and other not-yet-released in the US games.

There will also going to be a significant influx of new titles into the library through PAX Unplugged in November, including many Essen Spiel titles. So the PAX Library overall will soon get a major upgrade in quality and relevance of titles.
