I've got around 6-8 playing Infinity in my store, so I'm pretty happy.

Edit: Also don't be afraid to try to go to a store and see if they can't offer you space to get something. If they have a supplier that can get Infinity, you might be able to convince others. To make this worth their time though, you'll need to encourage those interested people to buy it through the store you're playing at. This might then make them support the game more and so forth, which is only a bigger win for you.

Since we're all apparently Australian for some odd reason, I just got 3rd at Castle Assault in Newcastle, I played Onyx Contact Force having played them in a grand total of two games prior to the tournament and ended up going 4-1 so I'm fairly pleased with that result.

The only person I lost too ended up getting first, I would have won that game as well if Corvus Belli actually bothered to balance TAGline. One side getting a Tikbalang while the other only gets an Overdron is kind of stupid and it's incredibly stupid that the TAGs don't count for the purposes of army points destroyed. I killed all of my opponents striker pieces and killed the missile launchers out of the Haramaki/Domaru link and the only thing he had left that could actually fight was the free Tikbalang, which went on to kill 80% of the things that actually died that game.

Because you get them for free they give 0 points for killing them for scenario scoring, so one side gets a huge rambo piece in a scenario where you need to kill things and the other side gets a TAG that is 20 points cheaper, slower, has no close range weapon , worse ballistic skill, and is just all around worse.

yeah buying Infinity from stores here is a lot more expensive than buying it online I've found.

Probably what I might do is try and play with some of my friends at my local store and just be open to talking to people who come watch us play and such, see how that goes.

I also discovered there's a perth FB group for the game so there's clearly some sort of community here I just never see them haha

I apologise for Julian on behalf of victoria. We haven't beating him down enough lately. Or maybe we beat him up too much and he adapted. Either way, glad you had a good time and grats on the result.

Was actually the second time I had to play against him, managed a narrow 4-3 over him in round 3 and then went down 5-2 in the final.

Are you located in the US? Because Warsenal.

I've just seen some of their (Warsenal's) nice new Camo markers; ideally I'd get some, but going through an order and then seeing the shipping cost...jeez...

The order was about $17 (it is just camo markers), but the shipping was $46.58. I mean, I do like the camo markers, but not that much.

September releases. Love the Bahram starter. Ayyar looks badass, Muyib is fantastic, Daylami are great. Farzan is a bit basic, but it'll be a token most of the game anyway.

I love those new Haqqislam models. Am I able to use them with my existing Haqqislam army or do I need to specifically use the Bahram?

You should be able to use most if not all of them. The daylami might have a limit but I'm not sure off the top of my head (it might be 3+ anyway making my point moot).

That bahram starter is like a birthday present to me from CB. Dat ayyar.

The Bahram starter is entirely useable in generic Haqqislam. Daylami AVA is higher in generic as well (5 in Bahram, no limit in generic).

  • AegeriAegeri Tiny wee bacteriums Plateau of LengRegistered User regular
Yeah, I have basically built the army from the Operation Red Veil book, but I'm already looking into diversifying my army beyond that.

But first, everything must revolve around making and painting the Poddy Tank.

    The Haqq's spider TAG?

Yeah, that things kinda interesting stats wise. Most times I see it talked about primarily as an overwatch anchor. You get the 360 visor one, put it in overwatch in semi open terrain and basically own that bit of the board.

Though obviously that comes with the massive caveat of all sorts of ways to punish that nonsense and that, like any unit, sometimes it'll just get crit/hacked/lol rolled to death no matter what the statline says.

  • AegeriAegeri Tiny wee bacteriums Plateau of LengRegistered User regular
    Yep.

I am curious because I can't find it anywhere, but what is the base size of the Poddy Tank? The older model seemed to be on 80mm base, but I can't find what base the current one is on. Especially because I want to mount it on a fancy base to go with the fancy Poddy Tank. What base size is it on?

    80mm still I think. It's a big-un

Incidentally the GenCon Seminar was great fun as always. Good old Bostria.

Cannot wait for that Szalamandra to come out. The room went wild when it was shown!

Definitely getting that Bahram box too. Crap starter because three irregular minis but great for adding into some other stuff, especially with a Muyib box soon too!

It's a bad box for starting a slow-grow but it's a great box for starting an HB force.

  • SolarSolar Registered User regular
It is if you're going to get more stuff, aye

I'd probably get, hmmm, well the new Muyib box for sure anyway!

  • InquisitorInquisitor Registered User regular
Gah, the KTS box I ordered from miniatures market only came with bases and torsos. No heads or arms, ahhh!!!

The profiles for the Outrage minis are finally out, albeit only for a special scenario. Jethro is pretty badass. He's the same as Knauf, but with MSV 2 instead of MSV 1, and with V: NWI.

Though I'm more excited about the Druze. Their profiles in the scenario are the same as what we currently have, with a lot more profiles - a HMG profile, a Paramedic profile, the LGL gains EMP and Nimbus grenades. Most profiles have a Viral pistol, some have Chain Colts.

But they all have Fatality L1. That means their Rifles and LGL are D14. Their Spitfire is D15. Their HMG is D16.

After much waiting and praying the sculpt for the Blackjack was finally unveiled..... and it kind of sucks.

Whoever sculpted this had no idea about weight and the role it plays in making your model look believable, that sculpt looks like it could only turn in small awkward circles and then fall down.

I think the white caps of the bottles behind you are misleading your perception, it looks great IMO, very low tech for Infinity, very heavy and visceral looking.

I don't know, take a look at the CAD images, it looks clunky and inelegant but practical, the only thing that seems out of place is the machete in the left hand. Seems perfect for USAriadna IMO.

It looks okay except for the giant gun that looks like they just took an assault rifle and scaled it up in the CAD software. That throws the whole thing off imo.

I mean that's exactly what they do

TAG guns are just big regular guns

  • admanbadmanb unionize your workplace Seattle, WARegistered User regular
My problem with it is that they took a gun designed to be held by human arms, made it real big, and then shoulder-mounted it. Which doesn't make any sense.

The rest of it looks fuckin rad though and the gun doesn't bother me that much.

  • -Loki--Loki- Don't pee in my mouth and tell me it's raining. Registered User regular
The weapon system and machete throw it off in a bad way.

Though I think they were too caught up it making it 'low tech' that they turned it into a bunch of crates connected by a skeleton.

  • AegeriAegeri Tiny wee bacteriums Plateau of LengRegistered User regular
That does sound very grungy and low tech.

I should get the Icestorm expansion box today, which will be nice with this being a bank holiday weekend; hopefully I'll find some time to make a start on them (that said, I start painting many models, I just never finish them).

I was painting some Auxilia, but I believe my wife moved them and now I'm missing the arm for the kneeling down one (does CB do replacement parts?), which in turn put me off finishing them off.

Looking at the new Infinity stuff , and at Giraldez's recent pictures, I'm really hoping that the Taskmaster is in fact being released with Crazy Koala's and a Tinbot.

First photo I've seen of the production miniatures for Aresteia. I'm pretty shocked. I know they're PVC boardgame pieces, but there's much better attempts on the market. These are really bad.
