There's a demo? I probably would have tried it out before buying it, but oh well.
Hopefully they'll fix those bugs. XSEED only has one programmer on staff, I believe, and she's probably busier with their newer releases. I read a post from her the other day where she was responding to someone and said that she has every intention of returning to older games to fix some of the outstanding bugs. Xanadu Next itself is actually a 12-year old game that got released in the US last year, so it probably wasn't made with 21:9 ratios in mind. But XSEED fixed Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Origins so it would run in 16x9, and they were not originally set up for that ratio either.
Anyway, I'll try to let you know if they ever fix it.
Rad, thank you. If I had do some hack to get ultrawide support and there were ensuing issues it wouldn't bother me, but 2560x1080 is a listed option in the launcher so it's a little frustrating that it has consistent bugs at that resolution. The game looks pretty great though.

DS3 was on sale and I picked it and the season pass up and have been streaming a bit. Damn that game runs well on my system, was very surprised to see that.
I'm having a fun new issue with Steam. It refuses to write to one of my hard drives. It writes to the other one just fine though.
Chkdsk and SMART both come back clean for the drive. No bad sectors, nothing. The drive itself is about fourth months old, and the issue began a few days ago.
The Blizzard Launcher and every other program I've tried can write to the disk fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Steam, I've followed all the support articles in their Knowledge Base, nothing fixes it.
I put in a ticket with their support, and Valve's official response has been to direct me to their knowledge base and then to their subreddit.
To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
Could you, by chance, have removed the drive as a target for Steam? I remember having to set up my secondary drive in Steam so that it recognized it as a place to store games, where it creates a directory structure and everything. Sounds like it could be that some important file/structure was lost.

Since the issue started, I have scoured every reference to Steam on the drive, deleted the library within Steam, partitioned off a smaller chunk of the drive, formatted that partition fully, added a new Steam Library on the new, empty volume and I get the same results.

Sounds like it might be an issue with read/write permissions. And that's a pretty terrible response from support.
I've changed Steam so it's running as Admin, and I've set the drive to overwrite permissions with the drive-level permissions which is set to full control for all users and SYSTEM.
The closest I've found to a similar issue in ~6 hours of bashing my head against this wallperforming labour so Valve don't have to pay someone research is an issue specific to the UNIX fork of Steam, which is unresolved. Everything seems to point towards the drive failing or Steam not having the correct permissions but no other program or utility seems to corroborate that.
Yeah. USB cords can be shitty. It's pretty easy to find cords that have enough integrity to charge something but not enough to provide a good data connection. Especially older cords that have seen a lot of use.

Hmmm... Odd question: do you have an antivirus in your machine? Maybe it is protecting the drive from being written by the steam executable in particular. And maybe it started after an update...
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Yeah, bit of a fizzer wasn't it? Especially when it was free for the same time on both Steam and Humble. Ah well, can't complain

GOG does tend to throw in some random extras like a soundtrack and wallpapers and whatnot.
Abe's Oddysee is a fun game so definitely worth having it on your platform of choice. A game that added a dedicated button for fart sounds. Truly ahead of its time.
So Now that I have Divinity OS2 If anyone is keen to start a fresh playthrough I'd be down to start a Co-op game at some point.

Man, my fingers are bleeding pink. Bleed beaten, backlog -1! That game is haaaard, I can't believe i still beat it. My reflexes aren't what they used to be. It was short and fun though. Thanks again to @Pixelated Pixie in her quest to pinkify everyone!

I don't get why that reviewer felt the need to include racial slurs in their review that they point out don't even appear in the game itself
too busy cruising the internet looking for something to be offended about

Extra-Life is an organization that if you've been around Steam thread for awhile, you've heard me talk about a few times already. Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for sick and injured kids around the globe. I myself have raised a little over $7,000 (thanks again @HiT BiT for the siggy) for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The way it works is that a gamer picks a day to game for 24 straight hours, and broadcast their gaming live over Twitch or another video service. Think of it like a 5k, but with games instead. It can be any game too, people have livestreamed DnD, mobile games, board games, sports at the local lot, etc... Of course, I will be doing video games, and will almost assuredly be streaming games that can be played via Steam. This will be my 7TH YEAR WHAT THE HECK!!? Seven years doing this. Yeesh.
Why would you donate? Well, to help kids in need of course! However, for us heartless monsters, there's more incentives as well. I'll be doing the same deal as past years since it's worked really well. If a Penny Arcade user donates at least $5 to my Extra-Life campaign, they will be entered into fourfive six (6!) separate raffles. The main raffle is for $100 in Steam dollars! The winner will receive a $100 Steam gift code purchased by me and PM'd or sent email/Steam message. The other Steam related raffle is for a free copy of the most played game on my friend's most wanted list. Seeing how most of my friends list is Penny Arcade users anyway, the free Steam game is usually whatever is popular in here. (Probably D:OS2 right now)Two raffles are for two (2) $20 Blizzard Bucks balance cards. These can be redeemed for Hearthstone cards, Heroes of the Storm Boxes, Overwatch boxes, etc... Anything on the online Blizzard Store. Be sure when you donate to my page that you include your PA name in the donation comment! This way I can keep track of who's who and can make honorable mentions later on to everyone who's donated.
Edit - AN additional $20 Steam Card raffle has been added complements of @Mugsley ! Making it five raffles! What a kind bloke!
Edit 2 - ANOTHER $20 Steam Card raffle from @MNC Dover !!! Holy crap!!
Edit 3 - I was able to secure an additional SNES classic on launch day, and I'm raffling it off! I'll even pay for shipping if the winner is inside the U.S.! If you're the winner and you live outside of the U.S. I only ask that you pay for shipping for the console.
tl;dr - Donate at least $5 with your PA name! Get entered to win one of these!
I will also be mailing companies and indie game developers for keys to give out live on stream, so be sure to bring Steam G&T chat over to my Twitch chat on October 21st!
In case you need a heartfelt message to get your donation motivation running, here's a really touching video made by Extra-Life in 2015:
My past years participating in this fundraiser have been incredibly successful, mostly thanks to you generous and beautiful people here on G&T Steam thread. Just wanted to give a preemptive thanks to everyone who's helped me out with this over the past years, and send a huge to all of you. Help me make this year a big one!

Reading about original sin 2, I am now sad that Skyrim did not have ghosts for certain characters.
Had I any acting ability or stable access to a recording studio, I would create a mod where the ghost of a bandit you kill, if you kill a bandit, way back in the starting town area, haunts you for hours and hours on end until you find is precious earring and deliver it to the coldest point in the realm.

Eh, Skyrim still had that ghost horseman that would appear and try to ride to what was presumably his grave before sunrise. He served no other purpose and was entirely unrelated to the quests that took you to that location.
Also, he apparently sometimes bugged out and chased after his ghost horse instead of riding it.

Anyone who has a long list of jokes about gender that they're dying to get off their chest should be advised that they are in precisely the wrong community for it.
