How do you play Great Western Trail without getting your hands on a cowboy? My first score, and income for that matter, was half that of my girlfriend because I couldn't get that first cowboy for cow-shopping for a while. And cowboys are tied to the job market.
Just to make sure, you know that the first, full-color employee on your private board counts as having 1, right? I'll agree that am early 2nd one is valuable depending on the market, but you're also using a pretty big hunk of your early cash between hiring the cowboy and buying the cattle so it kind of has to be pretty rewarding.
Oh the printed dudes on your character sheets are freebies?

Thats....
yuuuuuge.
Yeah. I remember not being sure and hunting through the rulebook to clarify. It was definitely less clear than it could have been. Like it couldn't have been that hard to print 12 more of those tiles and have you place them during setup. They're tiny.
At the bachelor and bachelorette party I went to a couple of weeks ago, we saw our first legit 5 word clue, and we all lost our collective minds from the time it was said to 10 minutes after we picked the assassin and lost the game. Such a great game!
I was on a team that received a legit 5 clue and it felt great when we successfully got 5 contacts out of it. The opposing spymaster committed seppuku in response by giving their team a 1 clue pointed at the assassin.
This 7th Continent kickstarter is stressing me out. All the optional buys add up to a significant amount of money, but I am having a serious case of the "But what if I love it?!"-itis since this will be the only opportunity to get it.
Fuck it just don't but the game or any of the extra stuff, there's plenty of games in the world without stressing out over this one

My mum and I scored a 5 point clue once. It was marvelous.
Cluck cluck, gibber gibber, my old man's a mushroom, etc.
Alright Gloomhaven players. I have officially given up on my so called "friends" flaking out on me for the 3rd time trying to get this epic game going. Playing solo with 2 characters is doable, but 3 becomes a bit of a chore. Have any advice for running a 3 or 4 man game solo?
I finished my first game of Eldritch Horror (with Forsaken Lore) last night. That was great! We fought Azatoth and managed to beat him with the doom tracker at 2. My character went insane and I had to choose another character, but we succeeded in the end. Now I want to pick up the Strange Remnants expansion for more cards and the Focus mechanic. I'm not sure if I'd get any of the larger boxes, though. I only have so much space on my table. And I'm going to need some kind of external storage option for all the cards.

"Stressed" was probably the wrong word choice. It is just a hard decision.
I upped my pledge amount to include all the extra expansions and cards. I can justify it and likely sell it if it ends up not being a favourite.
It's an easy decision to not spend a ton of money on a thing that you might not care about! I think my position on Kickstarters is pretty out of line with a lot of boardgame people though so yknow. You do you natch.

FOMO is a powerful motivator. This is a game which I suspect I may (or may not) like, I'll rarely get a chance to play, probably won't fit on any of my regular gaming surfaces, and costs me as much in shipping alone as another top shelf game.
And yet, I still keep looking at it, because the potential promise of it is both tempting and intriguing.
Tesla, Turing, Carver, Lovelace and other people Young-Whippersnappers don't care about are superheroes, putting them on a pedestal like America does with entertainers.

What is this? Is this a kickstarter? Do I need to kick and/or start it? I must know!

I found it.
Kicked the fuck out of that starter.
I checked it out too. I love the theme and the art. The game itself looks alright, nothing special. I was on the fence until I saw that I can have my very own Grace Hopper playing card and immediately backed the regular edition. I'll have to bring it to work and show it off to the other dinosaurs that still do COBOL.
I wonder which game would be best suited for an adult film. Love Letter obviously. Some have great titles, but are not big on theme... "Ticket to Ride: Legendary Asia". Some titles could be modified slightly and already have a good theme... "One Night Stand Ultimate Werewolf". Can an adult movie be kickstarted?

My mind read this incorrectly the first time. Mentally browsed the love letter card art before I realized my mistake.
So hey, this is probably old news, but I hadn't heard of this Kickstarter for Detective: City of Angels, which seems really neat. It's inspired by LA Confidential and LA Noire, and it's a take on competitive case solving like Watson & Holmes (or competitive Consulting Detective). It's got interrogations, and one player is in the role of trying to balance and throw the detectives off the case, which is a nice twist. Rahdo really likes it (if that means anything to you). Seems neat. One of the fastest Kickstarter backs I've ever done.
I picked up Zombie Dice Horde Edition as a reward for passing an exam. That's a really fun little game! I also bought a box of 12 shiny red/black dice with gold numbering for use with Eldritch Horror (since it only comes with six dice and there are boons that let you roll more than that amount).

I've been spoiled by GameScience dice, I just enjoy the hard edges. Just picked up a mis-colored set (set made between color changes that end up between the two) that turned out an awesome dark green. It even has the crazy numbered dice that I hadn't gotten before. d3, d5, d14, d16, d24

From the producer of Air Force One. The hope is that Harrison Ford will reprise the role.

I usually get everything dead last since I'm in the middle of the damn continent so this is really no different.

Right, but the shape and the fact it will land like that and not always fall over on it's face (which are labeled 1 and 5).
